Ricardo massaged his temples, finally saying tiredly, “Then let’s do it his way, ten billion it is.”
Booker couldn’t help but smirk inwardly, though he kept his face neutral and said, “Mr. Ricardo, this ten billion isn’t a no-strings-attached offer.”
“He has conditions?”
“For ten billion, naturally, there are conditions.”
Ricardo took a deep breath and asked, “What are his conditions?”
“This is a personal loan to you, Mr. Ricardo, as a gesture to turn foes into friends. Blake's condition is that the Cloude family must not trouble Julian from now on. This loan’s interest rate will also be slightly higher than the bank's. If you agree to these conditions, Blake will proceed with the loan. If not…”
Booker left the sentence hanging, but Ricardo already understood Blake’s intent.
He had targeted Julian not long ago, so Blake wanted to transform their conflict into peace. It seemed Blake also knew not to mess with the Cloude family and was willing to step back!
Ricardo said, “Blake seems reasonable. Since he can offer ten billion, a slightly higher interest rate than the bank's isn’t an issue. As long as the Cloude family can get back on its feet, we can make back the capital in less than half a year.”
Hearing Ricardo’s proud answer, Booker almost laughed but managed to keep his composure, following up with, “You’re absolutely right, Mr. Ricardo.”
“Then go handle it. Pay extra attention to the contract details. A personal loan is alright. It just won't go through the company's accounts.”
Once Ricardo agreed, Booker said, “Alright, I’ll get on it.”

Enjoying the story, to much victimising Sophie, they could at least try to target others. Hope at some point Sophie comes clean and forgives James and explain her view of loving the boy James was. Just so they both learn and move on. Really needs to be some consequences for the instigators instead of being let go. Sandy needs to see Vanessa is using her as a cover, and Sandy needs to wake up to herself, or be held responsible by her father for alienating the people she was supposed to make contact with. Hope the reporter brother is keeping an eye on what Vanessa and Odie are up to, and that he has he’s own justice in store. Hope he becomes like Reese a good partner. Hope James lives and finds he’s HEA. Need to put Nicole in prison , no release and several lifetimes , with all the evidence on the crimes she’s committed just to get her out of the way guilt free. More about what’s up with Gordon....
