"Why isn't he here yet?" Odie's voice was laced with impatience as he glanced towards Jonah.
Jonah responded, "Caelum's already sent someone to hurry him along, but the Pollards said Caelum has his own plans and can't be disturbed right now."
"Can't be disturbed?" Odie's expression darkened, a dangerous edge creeping into his voice. "Are the Pollards playing games with me?"
"Even if the Pollards have influence, they still need to show you some respect. After all, Ms. Sandy is about to marry into the Minton family."
"Marry into..." Odie let out a derisive laugh. The Pollards truly thought they were above everyone else, as if marrying their daughter to him was beneath them.
"Tell them, if Kiran doesn't show up today, the wedding between the Minton and Pollard families is off!"
Jonah frowned. "Please, think about this."
The Pollards are one of the oldest families overseas, their influence deeply rooted over the years. Even though Odie was now even more powerful than his father, he was still young. No one knew just how deep the Pollards' influence ran. Offending them could jeopardize many future business ventures for the Minton family.
Sensing Jonah's concern, Odie took a moment to calm his anger. No one had ever dared to insult him like this.
Kiran? He'd remember that name.
Odie impatiently adjusted his tie. "What about S Corporation?"
"I heard the head of S Corporation is coming today."
Odie smirked. "Blake is finally showing some sense."

Enjoying the story, to much victimising Sophie, they could at least try to target others. Hope at some point Sophie comes clean and forgives James and explain her view of loving the boy James was. Just so they both learn and move on. Really needs to be some consequences for the instigators instead of being let go. Sandy needs to see Vanessa is using her as a cover, and Sandy needs to wake up to herself, or be held responsible by her father for alienating the people she was supposed to make contact with. Hope the reporter brother is keeping an eye on what Vanessa and Odie are up to, and that he has he’s own justice in store. Hope he becomes like Reese a good partner. Hope James lives and finds he’s HEA. Need to put Nicole in prison , no release and several lifetimes , with all the evidence on the crimes she’s committed just to get her out of the way guilt free. More about what’s up with Gordon....
