Chapter 592 Drake's Trick
Everyone held their breath.
Although Sophia was a petite woman, she had an equally intimidating aura as a man. She might be even more intimidating than men when she was angry.
Just when everyone thought they were to be forgiven, Sophia suddenly said, "How about this? Give me the money and we can go party with the money."
Everyone exchanged glances and dared not speak.
Sophia continued, "I will take it as a yes."
It was still quiet.
Sophia walked up to the woman with the money, took the money from her and counted it, "There's about three thousand dollars here. We can have a nice meal with the money."
"Ms. Lawson, we are sorry!"
"Yes, Ms. Lawson, please forgive us!"
"Ms. Lawson, we won't bet on your private affairs ever again! We swear!"
Sophia smiled, "It's okay. I believe you."
They were relieved for a moment. Yet when Sophia's words came again, they were incredibly nervous.
"Anyone who wants to take the money can go get his salary this month in the finance department. After registering his resignation in the human resources department, he can go home."
After That, Sophia left.
Everyone became listless after she left.
"I knew it wasn't a good choice!"
"My money is gone for good now!"
"But we are having a meal, aren't we?"
"That's right! I bet only one hundred dollars, fortunately."
"My three hundred dollars!"
They were all from the secretary department and Sara was the only person here who didn't participate in the bet. She had been working just now and everyone here was unhappy when they saw her back.
"What's wrong with you? Why didn't you tell us Ms. Lawson came just now?"
"Yes! You have to pay your share at dinner tonight!"
"Yes! You can't get away!"
Sara despised them, "Who do you think you are?"
Then she turned around and walked back to Sophia's office.
Everyone exchanged glances strangely. What was her attitude just now? Sara came to work here for the shortest time among them all. She should be humble in front of them. What did she mean?
Was she proud because she was Ms. Lawson's secretary? But everyone knew that Sophia had been on guard against her."
In Sophia's office. It had been raining for half an hour already but Drake didn't seem to intend to leave.
Sophia was speechless. Was he out of his mind?
When she was about to go downstairs, Sara suddenly said, "Ms. Lawson, look at the sky over there! It's blue. How could it be raining? Is this an artificial rain?"
Sophia looked over and noticed it. She didn't pay attention to the sky just now.
Being reminded by Sara, she noticed something off with the rain.
Soon, she found the artificial rainmaking machine.
She was pissed.
Seeing her going downstairs, Sara immediately texted Rashad, "I've told her what you asked me to say. But she is going downstairs now. I don't know what she wants to do."
Then she followed Sophia downstairs.
At the door, Drake had been standing there for half an hour. The rain was getting heavier and heavier but Sophia was really cruel, and she just ignored him.
He was thinking whether he should hold on any longer when he saw Sophia walking out.
Drake smiled. He knew that Sophia wouldn't leave him alone in the rain.
However, when Sophia walked up to him, she slapped him in the face.
Drake was dumbfounded.
Seeing Sophia walk out of the building, Paul was worried she might get wet in the rain so he asked the technical staff to stop the rainmaking.
Seeing the rain water, Sophia said angrily, "What? Tell Paul to keep the rain pouring. Keep doing it! A little bit of snow would make it even better!"
Drake didn't know what to say.
After a while, he said slowly, "You knew?"
"Do you think I'm a fool? The sky is so blue. Although there are clouds, it doesn't seem to be a weather for rain at all. Do you think this is interesting?"
It wasn't until then that Drake knew he had been standing in the rain for half an hour for nothing. Seeing that Sophia was about to leave, he grabbed her wrist.
"Sophia, listen to me. I just wanted you to forgive me. There's nothing else."
"Nothing else? You want my forgiveness? This is the way you wanted to get it? Do you think I'm a fool and you could play me in the palm of your hand? I'm telling you, I won't forgive you today no matter what you did!"
Then she shook away his hand and walked towards the company
Rashad was walking up to them. "Sophia, Drake! What happened?"
Drake saw Sara and immediately knew what went wrong.
"You look angry. Is it because Drake lied to you about him being the King of the Underworld? Are you still angry about it?"
Sophia walked back to Drake and held his arm.
"Mr. Witt, it's between me and my husband. It has nothing to do with you. Shouldn't you be at work in your own company now? Why are you here?"
Drake glanced at her arm linking his. She could change her attitude really quickly.
"Nothing. I just dropped by and saw you quarreling," Rashad said calmly.
"What's the fun about that? If you really enjoyed watching couples fight, you should find yourself a wife soon so that you can feel it yourself."
Drake looked proud. Although Sophia hadn't forgiven him, they were on the same side in face of the enemy.
"No. Sophia, we are family. Drake did make a big mistake. How could he hide such a big deal from you for so long? I would've been angry with him if I were you."
Sophia smiled, "That's not what we were quarreling about, right, honey?"
