Chapter 613 Drake, You Still Remembered!
Bonnie suddenly felt the doll in her hand was not pretty anymore. She threw it away and then looked at Sophia, "Mommy!"
Sophia held her hand, "Let's go."
Cathy was sitting next to Drake and babbling about things that had happened back at college when Sophia and Bonnie walked into the dining room.
Drake took a look at Sophia. She didn't say anything and sat opposite him with Bonnie.
Cathy said on purpose, "I'm sorry, Sophia. We should switch seats. I got carried away and forgot where I should sit."
"It's okay. You can sit there. I have to take care of Bonnie here anyway. It's been a long time since you two met. You probably have a lot to talk about. Go ahead."
"Okay. Sophia, you are always this kind and considerate. I'll keep sitting here, then."
Then Cathy picked a slice of salmon with her fork and put it on Drake's plate.
"Drake, I remember this is your favorite. Sophia said she prepared this dinner as I preferred. But the way I see it, she prepared it especially for you!"
Drake was a neat freak and would never eat something other people had touched.
But to Sophia's surprise, Drake picked the salmon and ate it.
"It's been years. I can't believe you still remember!"
"Of course I did. I remember everything about you!" Cathy said it like she didn't mean to.
She then thought of something while eating and asked, "Well, Drake, how about you? Do you remember what's my favorite?"
"I didn't even know what you like."
Cathy replied sadly, "Hey, it's so unfair! I remember yours, but you don't remember mine!"
Drake smiled, "It's true that I don't remember. But I believe someone does!"
Cathy's face went pale. And it was weird that she didn't reply this time.
"By the way, since you are here, we should find time to see him."
Cathy put the fork around her mouth without uttering a word.
Sophia was surprised by this. There must be something between them, or Cathy wouldn't have been so quiet.
"Sophia, have this."
Drake pushed a dish closer to Sophia and Bonnie.
Sophia said softly, "We are at home. And it's not like I can't reach it."
"I know you can reach it. But I just wanna help you."
Sophia knew what Drake meant was he would take care of Sophia and Bonnie even under this circumstance.
After dinner, Sophia asked, "Cathy, you said you had a place to stay, right?"
Cathy took a look at her, "Right! My company arranged a place for me before I came."
"It's late. And I guess you came to me right after you got off the plane. You should go have a rest, you know, with the jet lag."
Cathy took a glance at Drake subconsciously.
Drake got up, "Yep, you should go. I'll have someone give you a ride."
Cathy gave Drake an aggrieved look, "Drake, can't you drive me home? We haven't seen each other for years. And I have a lot to tell you."
"Maybe another time. It's late, and I'm a bit tired from work by day."
Cathy didn't expect that he would turn her down. She said with a terrible look, "But you've promised you would take good care of me..."
"Someone else would give you a ride. Besides, you are not a little girl anymore. You are old enough to take care of yourself. If you really need me, I will be there."
Cathy kept staring at him. And she stood up a while later, "Okay. I'll go now. Drake, I'll see you tomorrow."
"You don't have to come to me every day. You can call Sophia."
Sophia could tell from Cathy's eyes that Cathy was hiding something, but she didn't say it out loud.
Drake took her to the car. But to Drake and Sophia's surprise, Cathy suddenly got off the car and hugged him before she left.
She did that when the car was about to start, which startled the driver in the front.
Drake scolded, "Cathy, what's wrong with you? You can't do things without considering consequences like you used to again!"
"Drake, could you not yell at me?! We haven't met since you left. I really missed you. And I just wanna hug you, okay?"
Drake pushed her away, "Cathy, I'm married. And I'm married to your cousin. I admit that we were close in the past. But I hope we can just stay as friends, you understand me?"
Cathy kept staring at him.
"Okay, now. Get in the car."
Then Drake gave her a little push towards the car.
Cathy moved as he wished, but her eyes were still on him.
Drake shut the door and told the driver to leave. Cathy obviously wanted to talk to him, but he waved his hand.
The car then left.
Bonnie was a bit sleepy, so Sophia went to tuck her in.
She saw Drake in the living room when she walked out.
"Why don't you go to the bedroom?"
"I know you have many questions. I had no idea that you were cousins."
Sophia smiled, "That's just how the world works. It looks big but you just meet them if you are supposed to."
"There's nothing between Cathy and me."
"But I saw her hugging you again and again. She must mean something to you," Sophia said bluntly.
Women who threw themselves at Drake usually didn't end well. But Drake just pushed Cathy away whenever she approached him, and he did nothing else.
"Sophia, are you getting jealous?"
"What? I'm not allowed to?"
Drake walked over and pulled her into his arms, "You are certainly allowed to do so! You are the only one who gets to be jealous for my sake!"
"I'm tired. I wanna go to bed."
Then Sophia pushed him away and wanted to leave.
But Drake held her tightly in his arms, "I haven't told you the stories between Cathy and me."
"I'm not interested."
Drake was rendered speechless.
It looked like Sophia was pretty jealous this time!
For some reason, Drake was so happy to see her being jealous.
"Sophia, you are so adorable!" Drake was about to rub her nose as he said it.
