Abbott still tried to make sense of this, but the old Mrs. Lawson motioned him to stop, "Well, I know you're on the side of Laura since you married her. Anyway, if you want to make me feel better, you should allow Cathy to work in Sophia's company. And I will pretend nothing happened."
Abbott was stunned since he never expected she would make such a request.
"Mom, I need to ask for permission from Sophia."
The old Mrs. Lawson got angry, "Do you know what you're saying? I just want my granddaughter to join her company. Her permission? Ridiculous!"
"Yes, you're right," said Abbott.
Drake stood aside and listened all the way. He had known that the old Mrs. Lawson must have woken up earlier but his father-in-law had no idea about it. Perhaps, she and William had made a scheme.
"If Sophia doesn't agree, I won't be done with her."
"I got it."
When Abbott stood up, he saw Drake.
Before he made a greeting, the old Mrs. Lawson spoke first, "Drake, thank you for your visiting. I heard you asked the doctor to look after me. You're so sweet. Cathy, come here and say thank you to Drake!"
A pink flush spread over her cheeks. Before she said something, Drake interrupted her.
"It's OK. I'm coming here to tell you not to provoke Sophia since I can never tolerate others being difficult with my wife. Now that you've come back to life, I should leave then."
Drake turned to leave.
The old Mrs. Lawson said quickly, "Cathy, see him off the door."
"Yes!" Cathy hurried to follow.
But Drake turned his head and said, "No worries. And Cathy, please keep a distance from me."
Cathy suddenly stood still, looking at him with bewilderment without a word.
Drake didn't mind her feeling at all and took the elevator to leave.
Abbott was making a phone call there while William reached his hand and patted Cathy's back to comfort her, "It's OK. We still have time. With the help of your grandma, Drake will finally get married to you."
Cathy reacted by smiling, "Yes. I even forgot that beating Sophia is the top priority. And gradually, Drake will pay attention to me, right, Dad?"
William nodded, "Correct. And noted that you should work hard in Sophia's company!"
"No problem!"
In the next morning, Cathy reported for duty.
Sophia didn't feel surprised about the arrangement of the old Mrs. Lawson. After all, she knew clearly that they came back for Drake and every industry of the Lawson family.
