Right Person, Wrong Time novel Chapter 668

Chapter 668

Queenie remained silent in the face of Lydia's suggestion. She had been locked in Bryan's house for a few days now, but Colton never came to look for her as if he had completely forgotten about her! He didn't even text her or call her!

She couldn't help but think of what the girl had said earlier.

Even a child knew about that incident, which meant that the Gardners had no intention to suppress the news at all. To make matters worse, they feigned ignorance as the news festered. Why?!

Colton and Nicole went abroad together. They went there a day earlier to observe the bodies of Norman's family for clues.

Three of them were shot in the head and killed on the spot. It showed that this was the work of a professional sniper.

She was a doctor and a neurologist to boot, so she clearly knew that the sniper's skills were excellent, and his task was to kill these people in order to tie up some loose ends.

"There should be no one in his family now, only Norman's disciples."

Nicole pulled the white cloth and covered the bodies again before adding, "Colton, get some of your trustworthy subordinates and bury them. I'll pay for the burial and other expenses. Explain this matter to them clearly."

She didn't expect that imprisoning them was actually protecting them.

Norman indirectly killed her mentor, but he did not deserve to die. It could be considered a form of retribution now that he and his whole family were dead.

Colton nodded and instructed his subordinates to carry the bodies away. They finally received an answer and uncovered the reason behind Norman's death, but they didn't expect to be again greeted by more bloodshed.

He discretely observed her expression and gently comforted her, "Don't be sad. Unfortunately, we can't predict these things, nor can we avoid them..."

Nicole sighed and nodded forlornly. She couldn't help but think that ever since she returned to the country and met Colton, she kept stumbling upon far too many incidents that caught her off guard.

"Alright, let's go and get some rest. We need to attend the trade fair tomorrow." She closed her eyes and murmured. She was exhausted, be it physically or mentally. She was so weary that she didn't want to think about these things any longer.

...

F&R Enterprise's trade fair was held the following day at the hotel downtown. Several people attended the fair despite their lack of interest in AI intelligence because the fair was initiated by the F&R Enterprise. The people who participated in the trade fair were all rich and powerful big shots from all walks of life.

Colton and Nicole went to the trade fair together, and she quickly spotted Whitney at the venue.

Whitney looked extremely pale and haggard, and she looked completely different from when she was in the country.

Nicole stepped forward and tugged on Whitney gently, which caused Whitney to shriek in shock. It was only when she turned around and saw that it was Nicole did she regain her composure.

Regardless, her face became stark white as she stammered timidly, "M-Miss Nicole."

Nicole frowned slightly and instantly noticed that there was something amiss with Whitney. So, she held Whitney's wrist and asked, "Why are you here?"

Whitney lowered her head and bit her lips tightly, looking as if something horrible was about to happen. Then, after a long moment of silence, she slowly murmured, "I'm here to pay off my debt."

Nicole sighed forlornly as she looked at Whitney. She had inquired about Campbell Corporation's condition when she was in the country. As a matter of fact, Whitney looked even skinnier when she returned to Campbell Corporation. Her originally round chin became slightly pointy, which set off her large eyes.

Nicole didn't know what to say. Finally, after a long while, she patted Whitney's shoulder and advised, "Don't do anything stupid. What happened to Douglas was not your fault."

Whitney tried her best to hold back her tears, but upon mentioning this matter, she felt a lump in her throat as her nose turned stuffy. Her eyes turned teary as she forced a bleak smile and sobbed, "Miss Nicole, I don't know what else I can do."
