Colton saw the disappointment on Sasha's face, but after seven years, he had completely let the past go. Even looking at how sick and pale she was, he couldn't feel the tug in his heartstrings anymore.
He then paused and recalled something important. "I have something else to deal with now, so I can't stay any longer. Call the doctor if you need anything. I also paid for your medical expenses."
What happened a few days ago was unexpected, so he hadn't settled the matter with F&R Enterprise yet.
Sasha clenched her hands tightly. The scene earlier was like a dream. Colton treated her tenderly, but then it was as if nothing had happened. She felt as if she had awoken from a dream.
Unable to conceal the heavy disappointment in her eyes, she raised her head forcefully, looked at him with a hint of grievance, and asked softly, "Is it impossible for us to be together again, Colton?"
Looking at the weak and pitiful person on the bed, he could not muster any sympathy for her. With a stern expression, he switched the subject. "Focus on healing for now, and don't overthink. I'll come and visit you when I'm free."
When Colton avoided answering her question, Sasha caught the hint and smiled bitterly. Within a few years, it appeared that everything had changed. Nonetheless, this was just the beginning. She wasn't going to rush through it and needed to take things one step at a time. She would eventually make him fall for her again.
Thinking of that, she offered him a look of understanding. Sniffing, she uttered brightly and naively, "Okay, I got it. You can leave and get your things done. The doctor said it was nothing serious. I just have to take a good rest."
Seeing that, he was suddenly at a loss for words, not knowing what to say. Eventually, he left without another word.
Sasha stared at Colton's back as he left until he completely disappeared from her line of sight. She felt complicated when she turned her head to look at the vanilla cupcakes on the table.
Back when they were in school, she enjoyed eating sweet treats. After eating vanilla cupcakes once, she casually told him that she liked them. Despite remembering her preferences, he no longer had feelings for her.
A glint of ruthlessness sparkled in her eyes. She liked him, so she was determined to reclaim his heart! Regardless of who stood in her way, she would get rid of them one by one!
…
At Wrenn Residence, Evelyn heard from Gabriel that Colton nearly got shot during the banquet, and she couldn't help feeling anxious. "Is Colton alright? No way, I must visit him!"
While saying that, she stood up and got ready to leave.
Sitting beside her, Siobhan saw Evelyn's panicked look, frowned slightly, and scolded, "Sit down."
Hearing her serious voice, Evelyn felt reluctant. Gritting her teeth, she retorted, "Mom, if Colton is hurt, he needs someone to accompany him. Why don't you let me go?!"
He looked at her anxious appearance and knew she was worried about Colton, so Gabriel explained, "Colton was not injured. He was rescued by a female bodyguard, who is still lying in the hospital now."
After hearing that it was a female bodyguard, she felt even more uneasy. She suppressed the anger in her chest while scoffing, "You don't know what those women are up to! All of them are trying to throw themselves at his feet!"
Needless to say, a woman's intuition was pretty accurate.
Glancing at her daughter, who had flushed with anger, Siobhan ordered indifferently, "You better stay at home during this period. You're not allowed to leave the house!"

What a waste of reading! This could have been an excellent novel if it hadn't skipped chapters after 531 and then everything is garbled. Get your act together if you still want a reading audience!!!...
