Due to the assassination attempt, Noah kept a low profile. Julian even sent some of his men to protect Noah after the latter was moved into a small room.
When Nicole and Colton visited Noah, he was spacing out on the couch.
When Noah saw Nicole walking into the room, he shot to his feet as if startled. His eyes were bright as he stared at her. After a night's worth of consideration, he began to believe her words.
"Did Undercity really kill my master?" he solemnly asked.
She was astonished by his sudden change of attitude. "I believe so," she replied with a raised eyebrow. "Do you trust me?"
"Yes." He nodded.
Nicole found Noah's current attitude strange. How could he have changed so much overnight? "You are believing me now?" she asked, looking at him with a probing gaze.
Emotions flashed across his face. The entire situation was rather complex even though he had already simplified the whole thing in his mind.
She had some men guarding him. As she previously said, if she wanted to kill him, she did not need to waste her breath talking to him.
He clenched his fists and looked down for a moment.
"I am willing to go to the police station to retract my accusation along with my statements to the media outlets that I gave on impulse. However, you have to promise me you will find the killer."
She would have looked for Maddy's killer even if he did not ask her to do so. After all, that person framed her for the crime! She was not somebody who could be pushed around.
"I would find the killer even if you did not offer me this trade," Nicole answered coldly in a show of benevolence.
Her noble attitude made him feel rather guilty. He had immediately gone to the police without any proof at all. Now, not only was she not holding a grudge against him for that, but she even sent some men to protect him.
Noah pursed his lips and kept quiet.
Initially, Colton planned to accompany Nicole to look for the surveillance footage from the day the Clancies were killed, but that plan was disrupted by a phone call.
It was a call from Sasha. As soon as he answered it, he heard Sasha sobbing hard. She sounded upset as she sniffled, "Colton, save me! Save me…"
She kept crying and shouting for him to save her.
He scowled hard, subconsciously realizing something bad must have happened. When he answered, he spoke in a soft and gentle voice, "Don't panic just yet. I will be there soon."
Nicole was standing next to him when he said that. Naturally, she also heard Sasha cry for help. Immediately, she turned to look at him. "What happened?"
Colton had hung up by then, and he did not have an answer either. He just knew from the sound of Sasha's crying that something major must have happened.
"I don't know. I will head to the hospital now. Do you want to come with me?" he asked.
There was nothing urgent she needed to attend to anyway, so she nodded.
When he walked into the hospital with her by his side, he instantly spotted Sasha curled up in her bed. She looked unusually pale, and the room was in such a mess that it looked like someone had robbed her.
A frosty look was painted across his face as he strode over to her.
Tears streamed down Sasha's cheeks as soon as she saw him. With a loud sob, she wrapped her arms around him and buried her face in his chest.
"I was so scared, Colton," she cried. "I was terrified. Suddenly, someone charged into the room. They were going to kidnap me. T-Thankfully, the doctor came in time."
She cried so hard that her entire body was trembling with distress.
His face went dark. Who would dare do this in broad daylight?

The readers' comments on the novel: Right Person, Wrong Time
What a waste of reading! This could have been an excellent novel if it hadn't skipped chapters after 531 and then everything is garbled. Get your act together if you still want a reading audience!!!...
