Right Person, Wrong Time novel Chapter 721

Chapter 721

Alvin's words inspired Sasha. Blinking her eyes, she let the realization dawn on her. He's right. No matter Colton's attitude, it can't change the fact that I saved his life. Thus, he's in debt to me. I should seize the opportunity and turn it to my advantage.

"You're right." As joy flashed across her face, she nodded and smiled in determination. "What matters now is for me to recover."

Since she had figured it out by herself, he decided not to say anything more.

After Colton and Nicole got off the plane, they immediately headed for the Gardner Residence.

She was hoping to earn Benedict's trust before she began to investigate the truth.

To her surprise, Olivia was the one she first saw rather than Benedict when the pair stepped into the house.

A deep frown formed between Olivia's brows when she saw Nicole. Before anyone could respond, Olivia strode over to them without hesitation and struck the other woman's face with a hard slap.

As Olivia used all her strength in the blow, the sound of the slap reverberated through the living room.

Nicole's head had turned to the side due to the force, and the tingling pain spread on her face. She covered the spot with one hand, quickly registering the situation.

Olivia already raised her hand for another blow when Nicole was about to explain. Fortunately, Colton reacted in time and held Olivia's wrist to stop his aunt.

Grabbing her wrist with one hand, he used another hand to drag Nicole and hid her behind him.

Nicole could hear the buzz in her head as she was slapped hard. After taking her time to recover, she looked up and met Olivia's eyes as she stated, "I'm here today to explain on my mother's behalf."

Olivia wasn't pleased by the way Colton had grabbed her wrist. As a flicker of hatred shone beneath her eyes, she sneered at Nicole's attempt and glared daggers at the other woman. "Don't even try that. Madeline ran over my mother and killed her. I won't let her off that easily!"

Even though Olivia had withdrawn her hand, she wasn't backing down.

Pursing her lips, Nicole insisted on her stance. "I'll vouch for my mother. She would never do such a thing. Therefore, I'll do my best to find out the truth."

"The truth?" Olivia's voice unexpectedly turned sharp. She couldn't help the disdain that emerged in her eyes as she stared straight at Nicole. "What are you trying to do? Are you twisting the truth right now? The picture is hard evidence! There's no way you can deny it."

Nicole, on the other hand, wouldn't back down as she replied, "If my mother was really the culprit, it would mean the photo was sent to Old Mr. Benedict to turn the Gardner Family against me. If so, the person should've sent him the surveillance footage instead of a sole photo. There's something fishy about it."

Her words earned a laugh from Olivia. The older woman began to laugh at the top of her lungs before she eventually stopped. With a gloomy expression, she threatened, "Your mother is proven guilty, and there's no way you can lie to help her. Nicole, I'll have you know that I'll never forgive the person who killed my mother, including you, the daughter of a murderer."

Taking note of Olivia's aggression, Colton reminded her lightly, "Aunt Olivia, I brought Nicky here to explain to Grandpa. We'll discuss it if there's a problem after she talks to Grandpa."

Olivia's face contorted in anger at his words. She turned to him with an angry look on her face and reprimanded, "Colton, how could you still side with an outsider at the moment? Her mother killed your grandmother. Moreover, it was a hit and run! Are you out of your mind?"

His expression remained indifferent at her accusation. His gaze darkened as he answered calmly, "It's only your guess. We shouldn't jump to conclusions from a mere photo. Once we found the truth, I'll give Grandpa and you an answer."

Colton's words were clear that he was standing on Nicole's side, and it irritated Olivia further. Her face flushed in fury and her fists clenched on her side as she growled, "You're irredeemable!"
