Right Person, Wrong Time novel Chapter 726

Chapter 726

Seeing how his mother acted, Colton had a smile on his face.

Even if the family does not understand me, Mom will still stand by my side.

"Okay, I got it."

When Nicole returned home, Hayden ran over and jumped into her arms when he saw his mother, whom he hadn't seen for a long time.

Nicole looked down at her son's face and smiled as she reached out to ruffle his hair.

"Hayden, have you been good these past few days when I wasn't home?"

Hayden buried his head into Nicole's arms and his voice was muffled, as if he were a little unhappy as he muttered, "Mom, I was worried sick about you. From now on, do not leave me behind. Take me with you wherever you go!"

Nicole knew her son was worried about her, so she smiled gently and stroked his head to comfort him.

"Look at me—I'm fine."

Hayden lowered his eyes and he pouted, obviously unhappy. His voice was deep, as if he was crying.

"I was worried about you! I don't like you going to these places." Hayden hugged Nicole tightly as his little hands tugged on her sleeves.

Nicole understood what Hayden was afraid of. Back then when they were in Uzor, they were caught by a group of mercenaries. Although they weren't hurt, it was a life-and-death situation.

At that time, Nicole was glad that she knew medical skills; otherwise, they would have died in Uzor.

After that, Hayden started to have trauma from all those underground organizations.

"It's okay. I'm alright," Nicole soothed while reaching over to hug Hayden and pressing him in her arms for comfort.

In return, Hayden hugged Nicole tightly, not letting her go.

Carrying Hayden to the couch, Nicole then said, "It's okay. I know what to do. I will not be in danger as long as you remain here."

Hayden lay in Nicole's arms for a long time before suddenly remembering something. He rubbed his eyes and asked, "By the way, Mom, how is your investigation going on about Grandma Madeline hitting Grandma Ella?"

He had already looked up foreign news on the Internet, so he knew Nicole was safe.

When Nicole heard Hayden talking about it, she felt a headache coming on. However, she wasn't about to hide the news from her son, and said honestly, "I have no clue yet. I promise your great-grandfather that I will find a clue within a week. If I fail, I can never talk to anyone from the Gardner Family again."

Hayden opened his clear eyes after he heard Nicole's words. Then, his face slowly scrunched up like a bun.

"So, if you don't find it, will you leave Dad?"

The boy liked Colton very much, and he knew his mom also wanted Colton. Ella had passed away a long time ago; if Colton couldn't find a clue, Nicole likely wouldn't find it in just a week.

Hence, Hayden was distraught that she was going to leave Colton.

Nicole looked at Hayden's sad face and comforted, "Even if I don't find a clue, you can still visit your dad. I will still allow you to meet him, although I cannot do the same."

However, Hayden was still unhappy and he said irritably, "It's not the same. I want Mom, Dad, and I to be together."

Nicole was silent for a while when she heard that. She had never thought another man would walk into her life, but she seemed to have ignored her son's wish.

"Relax, Hayden. Since I promised your great-grandfather, it means I have a solution, so don't worry about it."

Nicole comforted her son and she reached out to ruffle his hair.

His eyes lit up as he looked at Nicole with joy. Hayden instantly beamed and said happily, "Really?"
