Right Person, Wrong Time novel Chapter 739

Chapter 739

Nicole's eyebrows kept furrowing even after she finished watching the surveillance footage. She stared closely at the surveillance footage and didn't speak for a long time.

Perhaps Colton sensed her troubled thoughts, so he naturally reached out and pulled her close to him. Then, he caressed her hair and said with a smile, "Don't overthink this for now. Regarding your Mom's matter… let's wait for William, who's in prison, to clarify matters."

She nodded reluctantly, for there seemed to be no other way right now.

In the meantime, the security guards threw Queenie out of Colton's house. She was utterly enraged and shouted in the direction of his house, "Colton! Nicole! If I can't live a good and peaceful life, neither can you two! It's absolutely impossible for you two to be together! Hahaha!!!"

Perhaps due to the fact that Queenie knew that she wasn't married to him, her mental state at this moment seemed to be in shambles.

She sat by the door for a long time before she gradually came back to her senses. After that, she got up staggeringly and stumbled forward, step by step. I'm going to find that man! I need answers to figure this sh*t out!

Bitterness and pain appeared in Queenie's eyes as she recalled the man who showed up at the dinner party. She clenched her fists tightly and bit her lip. If it really turns out to be that man, I will definitely find a chance to divorce him!

It wasn't too difficult for her to locate that man through the Kohlbergs' information network. Plus, since she was deathly afraid that others would find out, she didn't dare to bring anyone along with her and could only search for that man alone.

When she followed the address she found, she saw that it was filled with dilapidated houses. The whole place looked exactly like a slum. A foul smell assailed her nostrils as soon as she entered the area, making her furrow her brows in displeasure. She, who was all dolled up, seemed wholly incompatible with the horrible state of the place.

She stood in place and inhaled deeply before she came to a decision. Then, finally, she eventually made her way inside.

However, her stilettos sank into a crack in the ground just after she took a few steps. She tried all her might to yank them out, but they remained stuck.

Soon, she became frustrated, and her forehead was covered with a thin layer of sweat. She gnashed her teeth and continued pulling her stiletto out of the crack.

After a while, someone spotted her embarrassing state, approached her, and asked, "Miss, do you need help?"

Queenie instinctively looked up, and her gaze laid on a very unkempt man. She glared at him with her eyes full of vigilance and said menacingly, "No need! Stay away from me!"

The man felt a little displeased with Queenie's unfriendly attitude when he just wanted to help. Nonetheless, his gaze soon landed on her bag, and before she could react, the man grabbed her purse and ran off.

She let out an angry scream before she shouted in the direction of the man, "Thief! Catch that thief quickly!"

But this area was a slum, which means the people who lived there were basically layabouts. Thus, no one was surprised by this kind of scene at all.

Queenie was flustered and annoyed. Regardless, there wasn't much that she could do at this moment as her stilettos were still stuck in the ground, and she definitely couldn't pull them out. Fortunately for her, her mobile phone was in her hand the whole time.

She had no choice but to remove her stilettos from her person. Finally, she squatted down and tugged them out with all her might.

By the time she managed to wear her stilettos, she was already looking a little helter-skelter. Her situation so vexed her that she couldn't help but mutter in distaste, "As expected, the people living here are vile and disgusting!"

Even so, she didn't pursue the incident with the thief and headed straight to the address she'd discovered.

Although the government had cemented this pathway in this place, it looked rather cratered as it had been around for a long time without maintenance. As a result, Queenie, who was wearing stilettos, stumbled along with difficulty. Moreover, it was noon, and the sun was scorching the ground's surface, releasing the slum's stench into the air. It would be an understatement to say that she nearly fainted from breathing in the pungent smell.

Queenie's face was painted with revulsion as she covered her mouth and nose with one hand while bracing herself and swiftly making her way inside.

Fortunately, there were door plates on each house. After she had searched for more than ten minutes, she finally found the man who had been at the wedding before.

The dilapidated iron door had become rusty after getting weather-beaten for an extended period of time. She could even hear a muffled sound with every knock.

She banged against the door for a long time before the person inside the house finally opened the door impatiently and roared angrily, "Who the f*ck is knocking at my door?! What's your problem?!"
