Right Person, Wrong Time novel Chapter 740

Chapter 740

As soon as the man opened the door, he immediately noticed Queenie. The impatience on his face instantly turned into a wretched smile. He laughed lecherously as he scanned Queenie from top to bottom. Then, he grinned and said, "Well, if it isn't my wife! What's the matter? Did you come around and realize that I'm still the best?"

On the other hand, Queenie shivered all over when she saw the man's scoundrel-like appearance. She had a rather nasty scowl as she glared at the man menacingly for his comments. Then, she rolled her eyes at him and said, "Don't you dare address me as your wife! I'm here today because there's something that I wish to discuss with you." If it weren't for my marriage to this man, I would never have come to such a repulsive place to meet this disgusting man!

The man leered at her with a slimy smile on his face for a long time before he licked his lips and replied, "I know. You're here to talk about divorce."

After he married her, the man searched her up. The Anderson Family wasn't exactly a first-class noble family, but for someone who lived in a slum such as him, she was still way out of his league.

Queenie's facial expression became marginally better at his cooperation. Then, she responded with a cold expression. "It's good that you know."

As the man looked at her imperious expression, his dark, murky eyes swirled with barely concealed greed. He swiftly grabbed her wrist with one hand. Queenie was startled at his sudden action and quickly grabbed the door frame with her free hand. She couldn't help but feel a little panic-stricken as she demanded, "What are you trying to do?"

The man tugged at her forcefully while he didn't hesitate to answer, "We're a married couple. So, naturally, we'll do what all married couples should do."

Her face instantly became horrified as she realized what he was insinuating. She gripped the door frame tightly with one hand as she screamed, "How dare you! I'm warning you: the Anderson Family will never let you off the hook if you dare to assault me!"

Alas, her threat didn't achieve the effect she hoped as the man simply laughed out loud before he taunted disdainfully, "Everyone practically knows your Dad, William Anderson, has been arrested and jailed by now. So tell me: what power does the Anderson Family have left now?"

She gritted her teeth, for she didn't expect that this man would actually know all this.

Queenie kicked the man's leg in her panic. Since she was wearing stilettos and basically threw everything into that attack, the man grunted in pain and immediately released his firm hold on her wrist. However, his pain was instantly replaced by a surge of angered humiliation. He glared at her maliciously, and his gaze was so terrifying that it seemed like he would do anything in his power to make her suffer.

At this point, Queenie was more than a little terrified. Just as she was about to threaten him with the Gardners, she abruptly dismissed the idea when she instantly recalled her current situation. So, she changed the words that were about to tumble from her lips and blurted, "I'm protected by the Kohlbergs now. I dare you to touch me!"

As expected, the man's menacing look gradually eased up after he heard her threat. Both the Kohlbergs and the Gardners are powerful families. I can't mess with them. Hell no! I had just been released from prison. I still want to enjoy my days outside the prison in peace.

As he thought of this, he sized her up for a while before he finally parted his lips and demanded, "Give me 1 million, and I'll agree to the divorce. Otherwise, don't even think about it."

If it were in the past, it would have been a piece of cake for Queenie to pay one million upfront. Unfortunately, now that she had lost the backing of the Gardners and William was stuck in prison, she wouldn't be able to raise one million even if she took out all the family's remaining money.

Thus, she raised her head and shot daggers at the filthy man before her as she barked, "Don't you f*cking take advantage of me!!"

The man merely chuckled and sneered, "Considering you have earned the title of Mrs. Gardner for so many years. It should be a piece of cake for you to take out one million, right?"

She balled her fists tightly as she fumed, I need to get a divorce! It's absolutely impossible for me to marry this disgusting man in front of me!

"I'll give you half a million at most!"

Nevertheless, the man shrugged off her offer. It was clear that he had an accurate grasp of Queenie's intention. Therefore, he shrugged and said nonchalantly, "One million and nothing less, not even a penny. Otherwise, you can kiss the thought of divorcing me goodbye."

At this juncture, she was already trembling in anger.

He knew fully well that he was pressing her buttons, but he still added with a smile, "Or you can sue me and bring this matter to court."

The whole city will learn about this matter if I really file a divorce suit against him! Queenie thought furiously before she hissed through her teeth, "Okay! One million it is, then. After a week, I will give you half a million first. Then, I will pay you another half a million once the divorce is finalized."

"Deal!"
