Right Person, Wrong Time novel Chapter 751

Chapter 751

After Colton left, Nicole seemed a little dispirited. She then returned to Zachary's side in a disappointed manner. "Let's go, Zach."

When Zachary saw the disappointment on Nicole's face, he knew her heart was still with Colton. Thus, he did his best to comfort her. "Let's not dwell on that, Nicole. Take it easy on yourself. I'm sure time will heal everything, and you'll eventually move on."

Nicole forced a brittle smile, feeling a strong sense of overwhelming voidness on the inside. At the same time, Benedict's words couldn't stop reverberating in her mind, which was why she didn't dare to associate herself with Colton anymore.

Although Benedict's message was only just a few words, it was clear that he didn't want William to have anything to do with her, and neither did he want her to be with Colton.

Furthermore, Benedict was joined by Colton's father, Benjamin, who also shared the former's disagreement about Nicole and Colton's romantic relationship. Thus, she didn't see any reason for going against these people and putting Colton in a tight spot.

Although Nicole admitted that she had fallen for Colton deep down after spending so much time together, she reckoned she could only stomach the pain herself, thinking the man would probably not be with her at the cost of the family's peace.

"Sure. By the way, I'd like to swing by the penitentiary to visit William," Nicole said.

Zachary hesitated for a while and asked, "Do you need me to come with you?"

Nicole shook her head. "Nah, I want to go there alone. He is still my biological father, and I'd like to talk with him privately."

Zachary didn't insist but instead nodded and caressed Nicole's head with his hand, smiling. "Alright then, perhaps it's time for you both to sort things out."

After arriving home, Nicole locked herself in a room without saying a single word, leaving Hayden bewildered when he noticed his mother's reaction. Thus, he quickly approached Zachary to find out what was wrong with her, but the man assured him that his mother was fine. Later that afternoon, Nicole left home and made her way to the police station.

Although William was merely under detention at the moment, he would likely be sentenced to prison for life once all the evidence was confirmed by the court. After all, he had been a fugitive long enough since the hit-and-run.

Having spent a week in the cell, William seemed especially haggard and tired as his chin was covered in stubble. When the wardens ushered him, he looked as though he had lost his will to live until he saw Nicole.

The moment he saw his daughter, the man's eyes brightened up like he finally saw hope in despair. Therefore, he felt so excited that he began speaking agitatedly. "Finally! Here you are, Nicole! Save me, please! I only ended up behind bars because of you. If I had been sent to jail back then, I wouldn't have been able to look after you and your mother."

When Nicole heard those melodramatic words before she even said anything, the lady only curled her lips upward. She then asked coldly, "Oh, is that so?"

William nodded. To convince Nicole, the man even forced himself to shed tears in front of his daughter. "Our debts weren't cleared even after you were born. So… If I had been caught and sent to jail back then, you wouldn't have stood a chance to grow up and become the beautiful lady you are now."

Meanwhile, Nicole was utterly disappointed when she heard how her father put all the blame on her. Perhaps it's true that a leopard cannot change its spot. What am I expecting? "Oh, is that so?" Nicole asked William the same question, but her tone was even colder.

Thinking Nicole really believed his words, William nodded in response. "Yes, Nicole. I heard that you're pretty close with President Gardner, right? Both of you even have a child together, don't you? Give the Gardner Family your son and tell them to let me go, will you?"

At William's words, Nicole felt nothing else but disgust. Did he just say he wants me to give away my son in exchange for his freedom? That's very audacious of him!

Nicole stood up and stared at him coldly. "William Anderson, I've come here today to tell you that you're guilty of killing Old Mrs. Gardner after hitting her and running off. Thus, you should be prepared to spend the rest of your life in a cell room where you can reflect on your mistakes," she declared.
