Right Person, Wrong Time novel Chapter 758

Chapter 758

Colton spent two years trying to let go of Sasha, and now… Wendy didn't dare overthink things. Instead of returning to her room, she sat beside Colton and tilted her head, looking at his handsome face.

Colton knew what was going on in her head, so he chuckled. "Are you afraid that something will happen to me?" he asked.

Hearing his words, Wendy shook her head and bit her lips. "I don't know. I'm just worried about you. After all, what happened with Sasha back then…"

When Colton heard her words, he knew that she was talking about him being dispirited because of Sasha. He smiled faintly and said, "I was young back then, and love was the only thing on my mind. Unlike a newbie who just entered society, I've been managing the company for many years now, so don't worry. I'll be fine."

While looking at him, Wendy twisted her hands together. After some time, she said slowly, "I caught sight of Dad when I was looking for you, so I hid behind the door. I heard the conversation between you two."

Colton lowered his eyes and hummed in response.

Then, Wendy looked at Colton and continued, "I like Nicole too, Colton. Although I hate William for killing Grandma, I know what kind of person Nicole is. However, Dad and Grandpa can't get over it."

While Colton was listening to Wendy, he suddenly stood up. His actions startled the girl, so she turned around to look.

Sensing her movements, Colton lowered his head and looked at her. He knew she was worried about him, so he smiled and said, "Alright, I got it. It's getting late. Get some rest soon. I'll be fine."

Nicole stood up with him and hummed in response.

At night, Colton didn't stay at the house and drove out. After thinking for a moment, he decided to drive to Nicole's house. When he called Hayden, the latter told him she was at the hospital. In that split second, Colton drove toward the hospital without any hesitation.

On the other hand, in the hospital, Nicole felt guilty whenever she looked at the sick Betty. Ever since Betty came out from the operation, she had never gotten out of bed.

For the past few days, she had been staying with Betty. Initially, Zachary wanted to accompany her, but she rejected his suggestion. He was a man, so it wasn't convenient for him to stay with them at night.

Nights at the hospital were silent, and only the sound of machines buzzed gently. Just as Nicole lay on the bed and was about to fall asleep, she heard the sound of leather shoes tapping against the ground. At that moment, she was wide awake.

The walls of the ward aren't soundproof, and it can't be a doctor or a nurse since they do not wear leather shoes. Now that it's almost midnight, it can't possibly be Zachary either. After all, I told him to take care of Hayden when he left…

Just as Nicole was still in thought, the door slowly opened, and a tall figure entered the ward.

It was Colton!

When Nicole saw him, her eyes twitched, and her heart shuddered. Why is he here? she thought.

Before she could speak, Colton was already standing in front of her, staring at the woman.

Nicole frowned at the sight of him. Since she was afraid that they would wake Betty up, she got up and whispered, "Why are you here?"

However, Colton didn't answer her. He had a grim expression and was pursing his lips. Then, he grabbed hold of Nicole's wrist to drag her out of the ward.

Looking at his reaction, Nicole frowned and asked in a low voice, "What are you doing?"

"I have something I want to talk to you about. Come with me," Colton replied simply and kept dragging her.

Seeing that he was persistent, Nicole didn't say anything more and followed him out of the ward.

Then, Colton dragged her out of the hospital and went to a secluded location just behind the building.
