Right Person, Wrong Time novel Chapter 763

Chapter 763

When Nicole returned to the ward, she was feeling groggy. She looked at Betty lying in bed with her eyes closed. A hint of pain flashed across her own eyes.

What am I going to do now? Betty's life is in danger now. How can I give up on her? But Colton…

Whenever she closed her eyes, she could recall Benedict and Benjamin's gazes, which were both full of hatred. It wouldn't be possible for her to go against her conscience to be with Colton.

At that moment, her mind was a mess. She didn't know how she fell asleep, but she knew that it wasn't a deep sleep.

The sun had already come up when she woke up. She checked the time and found out that it was already past 7.00 AM.

Just as she was getting ready to stand up, a tall figure entered from the door. She looked over and saw that it was Zachary.

When Zachary saw the dark circles under Nicole's eyes and her groggy condition, he asked worriedly, "Are you okay?"

Nicole shook her head and reached out her hand to cover her forehead. Then, she answered calmly, "I'm fine. I just didn't rest well last night."

Hearing that, he frowned before reaching out his hand to hold her, saying, "I contacted several foreign doctors who specialize in this field earlier today. I asked if they could come over and examine Betty."

When she recalled Colton's words last night, she pressed her lips together and replied, "I've already contacted a few myself. They will be here today. Thanks, Zach."

She didn't know why, but she didn't want to mention Colton's name.

After he nodded, he said, "Okay. Do you want to find someone to take care of Betty here? You can't continue like this."

He looked at her pale face and thought, It's only been a few days, but her florid face has already turned to this. If this continues, her body won't be able to take it.

After some thought, Nicole nodded and answered, "By the time the medical team arrives, they will be taking care of Betty. I'll be able to have a proper rest by then."

One thing was for sure about the medical team that Colton hired—they would never be bribed.

On the other hand, Nicole felt that she needed to do something about Betty's issue. No matter if it was in the past or now, she knew that Lydia and Queenie were behind everything.

Now that William was in prison, he couldn't do anything. As for the Anderson Family, they might be struggling right now.

Thus, she needed to go to the Anderson Residence to get her revenge on Lydia and Queenie!

"You should sit back down. Seeing you like this, I feel like you're going to faint at any time," Zachary said worriedly. He reached out his hand to hold Nicole and let her sit by the bed.

She closed her eyes to relieve the exhaustion in her eyes. After a while, she opened her eyes gradually. "I know," she said while nodding.

When Zachary lowered his head to look at her, he suddenly said after a while, "Marry me, Nicole."

Nicole was shocked by his sudden proposal. She widened her eyes and turned to look at him, asking, "What's wrong? Why are you suddenly saying that?"

Just then, he reached out his hand to touch her face and said softly, "You know that I've always liked you, Nicole. Now that I have the ability, I can protect you. I feel bad seeing you like this. I just want to protect you out in the open."

Hearing that, Nicole didn't know what to say. She avoided him cowardly once more when she saw his affectionate expression. She pressed her lips together, pain flashing across her eyes. As she bit her lips, she replied, "Zach, I…"

When he saw how she was hesitating, he already knew what to expect. He put on a wry smile and said calmly, "I was too abrupt."

In fact, he was feeling a little upset inside. I'm the one who knew her first, but how can she fall for Colton only after a few months of meeting him?

Yet, he didn't show any of these emotions.
