Serenity and Zachary York novel Chapter 3277

Carrie was a bit angry, but she still held it in and said, “I’ve already gotten much better. At least I dared to call out to him. The last time I saw him, I trembled and did not even dare to look at him, let alone talk to him.”

This time, she even spoke to Zachary. Although she was not a hundred percent calm, she was calm enough. Was that not an improvement? Was it not enough that she improved so much in just a little over a month? She used to tremble even at the mention of his name, she would have them know.

That bodyguard stayed silent.

“Stop demanding so much of me. I need time to learn and your boss even said I’m supposed to be resting for these two weeks. I just aborted a baby for him, you know,” Carrie said sullenly.

This was her first pregnancy and she had aborted the baby right after she realized she was pregnant, so she had not felt much for the baby, but it was a fact that her body had been badly affected. The pain of the abortion was the worst she had ever felt in her life and Mr. Longbottom was the one who had put her through it.

The same bodyguard spoke coldly, “The young master is already capable of taking over the boss’s business. If everything goes according to plan, he will be the successor. The boss won’t want another child unless you please him so much that he actually grows feelings for you. He might give you a child to accompany you for life.”

Mr. Longbottom was not short of children. The children he had with his legal wife were all quite outstanding. A few of his past mistresses had satisfied him very much, so he had allowed them to bear a few of his children.

Carrie had not been with Mr. Longbottom for very long and he rarely came to Wiltspoon, so there could not be any real feelings between them. They were just using each other. That was why Mr. Longbottom would not allow Carrie to have a child.

Carrie knew this, but she was still angry when she heard the bodyguard verbalize it. She said coldly, “I was the one who didn’t want it. I’m still so young, I don’t want to be held back by a child.”
