“You didn’t tell me you were going back early. If I hadn’t come over, I wouldn’t have known you left,” Serenity grumbled lightly.
Imogen laughed. “It’s my bad. I know you're busy and it’s raining, making it colder today. I didn’t want to put you out.”
She glanced at Serenity’s stomach. Serenity was wearing a thick coat, making it hard to tell her baby bump was showing.
“Plus, you’re pregnant.”
“I’ll visit you in Huntington once I’ve given birth.”
“Sure! I’ll treat you to all of our local specialties then. They’re on par with Wiltspoon’s.”
Serenity laughed. “I’ll keep that in mind. Are you in a hurry? I’ve brought some things for you. Strictly speaking, they’re not from me. Dylan asked me to send them over. He bought a lot of our local specialties as an apology.”
Imogen was silent for a moment before she asked, “Are there a lot?”
“Quite a lot. I don’t think you’ll be able to carry them alone. If you’re willing to accept them, I’ll ship them over to you. Just give me an address.”
Imogen pursed her lips for a thoughtful moment and said, “If I don’t accept these, he’ll think I’m still angry at him, which will weigh on him. Alright, you can ship them to me. I’ll accept them so he can pursue the girl he likes with peace of mind. The name card I gave you has an address on it. You can just ship them there.”
“Alright. I’ll arrange for them to be sent later.” Serenity then took Imogen’s hand. “I really like you and I feel like we get along very well, Imogen. Camryn’s back and I thought of asking you to have lunch with us, but you’re leaving already.”
Isabella replied without even looking up, “You’ve been coming by right on the dot for the past two days.”
“I’m hungry.”
Isabella said with amusement, “Aren’t there tons of snacks in your office? How could you still be hungry? You should exercise more. Be careful not to get out of shape.”
Tati pinched her own cheek before laughing, “I won’t get out of shape that quickly. That Austin is just really good. He’s cooked something different every day and they’re always delicious too.
It was not like they had never eaten the sort of food Austin was making. It was simply more delicious than when others made it. Tati called it the Austin brand—it was simply unique. One could not make it without decades of experience, and Austin had said he started cooking when he was very young because he particularly loved doing it.
