Serenity and Zachary York novel Chapter 3291

Camryn could not help but laugh. “If Mom and Dad heard that, they’d be heartbroken and call you heartless. What do you mean they don’t care about you? They treat me so well precisely because they do.”

Her in-laws treated her well, but that was because they loved their son. She was their daughter-in-law and they wanted their son’s little family unit to be happy. Camryn thought to herself that God was not that unfair after all. After being abused for over twenty years, she was finally given some warmth by being allowed to marry Callum and gaining in-laws who doted on her like she was their own.

She no longer had to worry about being ravaged by the storms for the rest of her life. Her in-laws would back her up and shelter her. For this, she was particularly grateful to Grandma May. She did not know what she had done for Grandma May to take a liking to her when she was still blind and choose her for Callum.

She was also grateful to Callum for never looking down on her when she was blind or even now when she was unable to bear children, and for loving her and bearing with her as always. Aunt Evelyn used to call her often to check up on her out of worry. Ever since she got married to Callum, it was her turn to call Aunt Evelyn first. Aunt Evelyn was no longer worried about her and knew she was doing well.

“That smells good. What did you make?” Camryn smelled the savory aroma of food the moment she entered the house and asked her husband as she walked toward the dining area.

“I knew you’d be hungry when you got back. I took the rest of the day off and made something for you at home, but Zachary gave me a hard time for it. He’s really just envious.”

Camryn could not help but laugh once more. “There’s no way Zachary would be envious of you. His and Serenity’s relationship is so strong that everyone else is green with envy.”
