"Yeah. Okay, you turn the stove on. I'll start making the batter." I nodded and grabbed a pan out of a cupboard. Lucky guess. I put it on the stove top and sliced a piece of butter into it. "Here." I turned around only to be blinded by something white. "Oh shit, I didn't mean to get it in your eyes." He hurried over to me and I whimpered. "Devina? Devina, I'm so sorry I thought it would be funny! Are you okay?" I sniffled a little and chucked an egg at him. Good thing he put them on the counter behind me. I snickered and wiped the flour from my eyes. I bent over, bubbling with laughter as I saw where the egg had landed. Right on his forehead, a little for in his brown hair too. "You did not just to that." He narrowed his eyes making me freeze.
"Have I told you how good you look today?" I tried cracking a smile too, but my pathetic attempt didn't work. Zane lunged forward but I was quicker, I screeched and ran away. "No!" I laughed and ran out the back door and into the backyard. "Zane! If you really care about me you won't do this!" I slowly backed away with my hands up in surrender. He grinned and held up his hands wiggling his fingers. "Zane!" I screeched again and turned around, running through the woods. I dodged trees and jumped over fallen branches and bushes. "No!" I giggled as I heard his fast-paced footsteps get closer then completely disappear. I frowned and turned around. No one was there. "Zane?" I heard some more footsteps behind me so I turned around. A small gasp escaped my parted lips as Zane stood on all fours in front of me. "Zane?" I stayed planted where I was and his mouth opened, howling up at the sun. I giggled and kneeled down on the ground, his wolf was huge so I had to crane my neck up to look at him. He slowly walked forward but stopped a few feet away. He howled again and I laughed. "I'm okay," I assured him and he laid down right in front of me, placing his large head on his front paws. "You're so cute." I giggled making him growl. "You are." And with that I slowly reached my hand forward, he lifted his head up and met me halfway. I slowly caressed his brown fur as he stared intently at me.
"Ah, and who do we have here?" I heard an unfamiliar voice asked. I turned my head to the left and furrowed my brows. Zane growled and stood up. "Another little toy, Alpha?" The man laughed and Zane stepped in front of me, blocking the man from sight. "What's wrong? Don't wanna share with your own brother?" My mouth gaped open ad I walked around Zane who growled in response. Zane never mentioned anything about a brother, or family for that matter. "She's a pretty one isn't she?" He stepped forward and smirked at me.
"Who are you?" I asked then mentally cringed. "What do you want?" I decided to stay where I was, planted next to Zane, partially leaning on him. This wasn't just in order for me to feel better, it was also a miserable attempt to keep Zane at bay.
"I'm Dylan. Zane's brother." He smirked, once again aimed at me. "And I would like dinner. With you." I blushed and hid my face in Zane's side. "What's your name beautiful?" He tried to flirt again causing a growl to erupt within Zane's chest.
"Can you change back?" I softly asked him and he nodded. He went to go behind a tree then stopped. His eyes found mine and he motioned me to follow him. I walked with him and turned my back as he grunted in pain. After a few minutes, warm arms circled my body and he kissed down my neck.
