"You made me feel special. You made me think that it was fate, Zane. That I was the only person made for you." He shook his head and tried to take a step forward but I matched his movements, only this time I took a step back. Not only with my feet, but in our relationship. I felt betrayed. There's someone else out there made for him. Meant for him. More destined than I am.
"Devina no, you don't understand." I nodded my head, agreeing with him.
"You're right. I don't understand. I don't understand you." I took another step back and Zane shook his head.
"Sunshine," I shook my head too and walked away.
"I'm going to stay with Mika for a few days," Zane growled and grabbed my arm.
"No, you aren't. I just got you back, I'm not losing you again." I scoffed and tried to push him away, but got nowhere.
"You can't tell me what to do Zane! I'm not yours." I spat out, his face contorted into anger.
"Yes, you are dammit! You are mine! You've always been mine! You aren't leaving!" He yelled back making me flinch.
"I don't want to live with you," I yelled, not quite matching his tone but it was pretty close.
"Then don't live with me. But you aren't leaving me! I forbid it!" Tears escaped down my cheeks as he spoke those words.
"You forbid it, huh?" I bit my bottom lip and nodded. "I'll just be your prisoner? Is that what you want? For me to stay with you because you're making me? Unwillingly?" His hard expression softened and he brought his filthy hands up to my cheek. "Don't freaking touch me!" I yelled.
"Devina, you can stay with me for a few days. I'm just across from Zane's house. I wanted to be close to my dear brother." I knew what Dylan was trying to do, he was trying to make Zane mad. But so was I.
