"No."
"Yes."
"No."
"Yes!"
"Oh my-" He rolled his eyes. "Fine." I smiled and pecked his lips again, quickly pulling back Zane growled. "No more teasing." And with that, he smashed his lips onto mine and I responded with as much hunger and passion as him.
"Yes," I said, pulling away for air. "We're exclusive." Zane grinned and picked me up, twirling me around then kissing me again.
"Does this mean I can try to convince you into moving back in with me?" He shyly asked and I smirked.
"Sure." He grinned. "You can't try. It's a free country. You can say pretty much whatever you want." He growled and set me back down on the ground.
"You live with my brother." He stated and I nodded. "How is that right?" I shrugged and led him back to the car.
"It would be weird if I lived with you." He rolled his eyes and opened the passenger door for me.
"No, it wouldn't. You're my mate." He said like it was the most obvious hung in the world.
"I'm only sixteen." I pointed out.
"Seventeen." Zane corrected. "Speaking of which, I got you in to take your driver's license test."
"But I need to take drivers ed."
"Not when your bo-" Zane swallowed and cut himself off. He was going to say boyfriend. "Not when your mate is the Alpha." This little mix-up made me think. What are we? Are we even anything? He shut the door and hopped into the driver's seat. "But speaking of your birthday," He grinned and pulled out a small black box. "I know it was a while ago but things kept happening and I never got the chance to give this to you." He handed the box to me and I rolled my eyes.
"You didn't have to get me anything." Zane sent me a death glare and nodded towards the small box in my hands. I sighed and opened it. Inside was a silver half moon pendant necklace. I gasped and touched the pendant. "It's beautiful," I whispered. Zane took the necklace out of the box and placed it around my neck.
I tossed and turned in my bed but not even a single position felt comfortable. I sighed and finally got out of the bed. Pulling on some shoes I quietly crept outside. I didn't bother changing my clothes, which I was now regretting because my bare legs were freezing. I hurried over to Zane's house and softly knocked on the door. After a few taps, there was no reply so I opened it. I shook my head at his carelessness. Someone could break in. Like me. I giggled and locked the door behind me.
"Zane?" I whispered but there was no reply. I crept upstairs and into his room. He was dead asleep. I smiled and walked over to the other side of the bed. Crawling under the covers, I felt him start to stir. I held my breath, not wanting him to get mad but the only thing he did was smile and open his green eyes. "I can't sleep," I whispered and he frowned.
"What time is it?" He looked over at the bedside clock and frowned again. "It's almost six. Why didn't you come over sooner?" I shrugged and pulled the covers up to my chin.
"Didn't know it was that early. Sorry." He shook his head and pulled the covers away from me a little. "Zane, it's cold!" I whined making him chuckle.
"I'll keep you warmer than a piece of fabric." He spoke and pulled me into his side. "And I guess you should have worn more clothes." He pointed out making me blush.
"I was hot at Dylan's." He tensed a little at the mention of his brother's name but relaxed after a few seconds.
"That better be because-" He stopped himself and shook his head. "I'm sorry. You're welcome here anytime Sunshine." I smiled and buried my head in his chest. Before I drifted off to sleep, I faintly heard him mumble something. "Welcome home."
