She Can't Be Your Mate novel Chapter 79

"What can I get you lovely ladies?" He smirked and pushed my ID back towards me.

"A piece of you." Hailey giggled, making me roll my eyes.

"Something strong for me." He grinned and nodded. Once I got my drink, I downed it in a few minutes. Then I went onto the next one. And then the next one. And then I lost count.

"Hey," Some college boy slurred.

"Hi." I slurred back, our breaths combining, the smell of vodka empowering everything else.

"Wanna go outside?" I shrugged and nodded. He grabbed my hand with his own and lead us outside into a dark alley.

"I should gooo," I tried turning around to leave but the man grabbed my hand again.

"Nah, come on. Stay." His dark eyes scanned my body making me squirm.

"No, I'm too drunk. I-I need to g-get back to..." I trailed off as I looked down the dark alley. At the end, I saw a black figure standing, with all black clothes. I furrowed my brows and blinked, the person still stood there. The man in front of me started to let his hands roam down low, making me jump. "No! Don't t-touch me!" I tried to shove him off but he was way less drunk than I thought he was. I turned my head to look at the manly figure again and frowned. He was still there. Just staring at me. Then another figure appeared behind him, grabbing his arm and growing him across the alley. They almost blended together, moving too fast to be human and to fast to comprehend. The man in front of me started kissing down my neck as I watched one figure start running towards me. Then all of a sudden, I felt a sharp pain in the crook of my neck. "Wha-" The man was ripped off of me a few seconds later, ripping the pain away too. I felt woozy as I saw the two fighting now. Sliding down to the ground I smiled as I saw the back of the dark figure. "You look like him," I whispered before passing out completely.

~Unkown's POV~

"Where's Devina? Why are you calling at three am?"

"I don't know. We were at the bar and she got super drunk. Then some frat boy came up and they walked outside. I found her phone and jacket outside in the alley. I don't know where she went. Even as drunk as she was, she would never leave with some guy." Devina's best friend explained making me tense. I jumped out of the bed and threw on a shirt.

"What bar?" I quickly asked, rushing around the room to get ready.

"Z's." She softly replied making me smile. That's my bar. I thanked her and God for knowing exactly where the bar was and hung up, all while making my way to the bar. Once I got there, it was still a little busy. I followed her scent to the alley and scanned the area. A few drops of her blood was absorbed into the dark cracked cement while at the end of the alley was more blood, but it wasn't hers. I frowned and looked around trying to follow her scent. Suddenly, a sharp pain formed on my neck. My hand shot up and I felt where the pain was coming from. It wasn't my pain. It was hers. Every once and awhile in my little trance, I'd feel some kind of pain. April said it was just me being clumsy or growing pains, but now that I thought about it, I knew it was Devina. What nineteen-year-old werewolf has growing pains? The pain was right in the crook of my neck. Vampires. I clenched my fists and stomped back to my car. Following her faint scent all the way out of town, I frowned as I saw where she was. Sitting by a little window in a cafe with some guy. My blood boiled as I stomped inside to their table.

"What the hell Devina!" She turned to look at me and raised her eyebrows. The man sitting across from her-the vampire-stood up and stepped in between us. "You know you had Hailey worried sick!" I yelled trying to look behind this guy. Finally, after he didn't move, I shoved him out of my way and glared at Devina. "What are you doing?" She stood up and looked around, telling me to be quiet with her eyes.
