Chapter 123
When she heard this, her hand, which had been resting on her neck, abruptly ceased its motion.
He grasped her neck with one hand and hoisted her up off the ground.
A powerful force constricted her airways, bringing on a sensation of suffocation that made her heart feel heavy and pained.
Her heart decay symptoms necessitated sufficient oxygen to sustain her; without it, she would perish.
The injury on her back already made it too painful for her to breathe, and now her respiratory tract has been further choked, exacerbating her pain
She felt the suffocation and her heart clenched, desperation driving her to open her mouth wide, desperate to draw in air.
The big palm, however, gave her no opportunity, tightening its grip on her neck with ever–increasing strength.
Her trembling hands attempted to pull at the corner of Sebastian’s clothing, yet she lacked the strength to do so.
With tears in her eyes, she could only pleadingly look at Sebastian, hoping for his mercy to set her free.
Sebastian, upon seeing her face abnormally pale, as if she were on the brink of death, quickly let go of her and pushed her to the ground
Scarlett, having been given the opportunity to take a breath, lay on the ground, clutching her heart, struggling to utter a single word
“Medicine
She had to take medicine right away, or else she would die!
Whenever she encountered Sebastian, she would take a hefty dose of medication to keep her illness in check.
For so many years, she had only suffered from a disease in his presence once, yet he mistakenly assumed she was feigning illness for financial gain.
After that, she kept her heart condition a secret from Sebastian, yet at this moment….
Scarlett reached out to Sebastian and asked in a quavering tone, “I… have a cardiac condition… Please… rescue me…”
She was not afraid of death, yet the sensation of suffocation made her long for death, while her subconscious yearned for life.
Sebastian’s cold, indifferent eyes quivered ever so slightly.
“Where is the medicine?”
The medicine is….
Scarlett suddenly recalled that she had taken a lot of medication prior to departing, so she had left her bag behind.
Realizing this, she let go of her struggling hand, aware that her time was running out. It was a stroke of bad luck that the medicine was nowhere to be found.
She gave up asking for help, her heart heavy, and she turned to face the lamp. Darkness engulfed her, the dim light unable to penetrate the gloom, as if she had descended into the depths of hell.
In a trance, her eyes beheld a delicate face as sharp as a knife.
The world spun and the man, in one swift motion, swept her up.
Scarlett nestled in his arms, her gaze fixed on the three–dimensional, flawless side profile.
She couldn’t make out the expression in his eyes, yet she could sense that he was embracing her tightly, as if scared of letting her go
Sebastian had never before hugged her in front of such a large crowd
Scarlett greedily leaned her head against his hard chest, unable to resist the embrace.
Just a little indulgence….
Sebastian, with a cold expression, swiftly ushered her into the car.
Scarlee, walking towards the hotel, saw Sebastian holding a woman in the car; her face sinking, she hastened over.
“Sebastian, who is she?”
