Chapter 130
Scarlett heard the harsh voices of two people outside the door, which was not closed.
The truth, bloody and clear, was placed before her, and she realized what her place was in Sebastian’s heart.
For the past five years, she had been consistently aware that in his eyes, she was merely a means of satisfying his desires.
Yet, she had never before been so utterly despondent….
Raising her right hand, she adjusted the slow–dripping drip, hoping that a swift loss would mean a swift recovery.
Sebastian, upon seeing the second bedroom door not closed after Lanny had left, his face suddenly sank.
He was a bit out of control, so he hurriedly strode into the room and saw Scarlett adjusting the drip.
Her petite face showed no signs of emotion, remaining as docile and obedient as ever.
Upon seeing him enter, she smiled at him, thus dispelling the doubts in his heart..
Lanny’s conversation just now wasn’t too loud; she probably didn’t catch it..
Sebastian, subconsciously letting out a sigh of relief, sat down in front of her bed.
“Are you better?”
Scarlett feigned a nod, as if nothing had occurred. “It’s better.”
They had no words left.
The silence created an awkward atmosphere between the two.
Noticing that he was seated off to the side and had no intention of departing, Scarlett couldn’t help but inquire, “Mr. Jackman, would you be able to assist me in locating my bag?”
Her bag, containing her phone and other items, landed in the banquet hall of the Haitian Hotel.
She was afraid that if Susan couldn’t find her, she would be anxious, so she asked Sebastian to help her locate the bag first.
Sebastian still had a lingering fondness for the two words “Mr. Jackman‘ that she had uttered.
Although he was referred to as “Mr. Jackman” by her before, he did not feel alienated.
After their separation, every time she called him, he felt that the distance between them was growing greater.
Twisting his thick eyebrows. Sebastian dismissed the thoughts in his mind and, taking out his phone, called Leo.
Leo, having just left the city hospital with his people, had no choice but to turn back and take Scarlett’s bag from Dev.
Leo gazed at the tiny white leather bag in his hand, shaking his head in disbelief. This had to be the most immature thing he had ever done.
Leo arrived at the villa with his bag, and Sebastian had already vacated the second bedroom, now occupied with work in the study.
Leo knocked on the door of the study and, upon receiving permission, entered.
“Mr. Jackman, this is Miss Sales‘ bag.”
Leo passed the bag he was holding to Sebastian.
Sebastian raised his eyes and glanced over at Richard, who was standing nearby.
“Send it to her first.”
“Yes.”
Richard responded, took the bag from Leo, then spun on his heel and departed.
