Scarlett heard her words as an insult, but to Lanny, it seemed like she was scared. 

She rushed up to Scarlett and apologized “Miss Susy, this person didn’t realize who you were. That’s why they spoke to you like that. I’m so sorry. You’re so kind-hearted, please forgive them.” 

Lanny’s meek request caused Scarlett to feel even more remorseful. “Dr. Richard… 

She wanted to say not to lower her status for her, but was stopped by Lanny. “Miss, you are only here for medical treatment. I don’t know you. If you say anything that upsets Miss Susy, I won’t treat you again!” 

Lanny was severing ties with her, seemingly in an effort to safeguard her. Scarlett remained tactful and said nothing. 

Although Lanny felt intimidated by the woman’s arrogance, she was too afraid to cause trouble and had to grit her teeth and 

bear it. 

Upon seeing this, Miss Susy curled her lips and sneered, “Executive Lanny really values friendship; she’s willing to go the extra mile to safeguard the patient, even though it’s like a clay Buddha crossing the river.” 

Lanny, not daring to answer, buried her head lower, clenching her fists as her heaving chest betrayed her dissatisfaction. 

“Does Executive Lanny seem unconvinced?” 

Lanny quickly unclenched her fist and shook her head. “How could that be? Miss Susy is a socialite. How could I be unconvinced?” 

Susy scoffed disdainfully “If you’re so sure, then hand her over to me.”

Scarlett was raised by Sebastian, how could Susy take her to a clubhouse?! 

Lanny’s nervousness only served to make Susy’s smile more intriguing

Susy snapped back to reality, wondering what this person had just called her.
