No one would have guessed that the ever-composed Andre would end up with such a crybaby son. But with no other option, he just rolled with it.
Everyone nodded knowingly, saying, "No wonder you're the CEO's right-hand man, and we're just the junior assistants."
Noah proudly chimed in, "Take notes, folks. This is all thanks to Sister Rosa's mentoring."
In the CEO's office, Andre felt drained. Little Henry's teary eyes followed him wherever he went. Sitting in his baby walker, Henry raised his tiny arms, his face scrunched up, silently pleading to be held.
After a couple of minutes, Andre gave in and scooped him up.
The cries finally faded. "Let's aim for a three-hour nap and wake up at 2, alright?"
Covered in sweat, Henry clung to his dad.
With Henry nestled in one arm, Andre settled at his desk. With his free hand, he flipped through a document, found it workable, and hastily signed his name.
The little guy on his shoulder crawled a bit before dozing off without a fuss.
It wasn't until later that Andre noticed his son, face tilted, sleeping soundly.
He gently put down his pen, cradled Henry like the treasure he was, and carried him to the back room, placing him on the bed before heading out.
Meanwhile, Mia had squeezed in some time to accompany Molly to the hospital for a check-up. On the way, Molly was glued to her phone.
"Waiting for Chad to call?"
Molly nodded without hesitation, "With Chad's schedule, I guess you'll be my check-up buddy from now on."
Mia replied, "Having your best friend with you is even better than a guy, plus, I've got your back, right?"
Molly confessed, "Still, there's a tiny bit of disappointment. I thought Chad would be there for my first check-up."
Noticing her friend's rare glum mood, Mia casually tossed an arm around Molly's shoulders, "Hey, your baby's still in the early stages. You wouldn't see much on the scan anyway. Chad's being a hero, chasing down a $50 debt for me."
"Mia, how do you know Chad's off chasing a $50 debt?" Molly was taken aback; she hadn't mentioned it.
Mia shrugged innocently, "Just a wild guess."
Molly started questioning her life choices.
How did Mia guess that Chad was involved in a counterfeit case?
Mia, puzzled but cheeky, added, "It was an easy guess."
Molly protested, "That's it, you're coming with me to see a neurologist. I think there's something wrong with my brain... wait, my brain's malfunctioning... no, that's not it, my brain's gone haywire..."
Mia blinked, her confusion mirroring her adorable son's, looking at Molly as she berated her own mind.
Normally sharp-tongued, Molly found herself lost for words.
"Molly, I agree, we need to get your brain checked out." So, Mia joined her buddy on a trip to the neurologist.
Over at Maple Hill, Chad's phone was locked away, and he was observing the interrogation from outside, visibly annoyed with the unyielding suspect. He was more on edge than usual.
Even though he tried to act cool, his apprentice noticed something was up. "Boss, what's eating you?"
