Sweet Mischief’s Rollercoaster Romance novel Chapter 897

Henry tried to balance himself on his dad’s shoulder, aiming to tiptoe up with a cheeky grin, but with a loud thud, he lost his footing and landed on the couch, legs flailing in the air.

Andre glanced over at his clumsy son, his little face scrunching up again. It looked like the 'Byrne Family Concert' was about to kick off in the house once more.

Later on, after lots of cuddles and kisses from his dad, the little prince finally managed to hold back his tears.

Mia sighed, “Honey, did we really have a son?”

Andre looked at his chubby, adorable son, staying quiet for a moment.

That night, a worn-out Mia, with her back exposed, snuggled into the blanket and fell asleep as soon as her head hit the pillow. Old wounds hadn’t healed before new feelings were added.

Andre couldn’t sleep just yet. He gently touched the bandage on his wife’s arm, a fierce look in his eyes.

Someone dared mess with his wife? They must have a death wish!

And don't think he’d let them off the hook that easily.

Andre got up, grabbed his phone from the table, and headed out to the balcony.

The cool night breeze tousled Andre’s hair, adding a chilling layer to his persona under the night sky. The warmth he showed his family during the day and his icy demeanor in the night breeze seemed to be two sides of the same coin.

He dialed a number, “Hey, head to the hospital…”

The Byrne family.

Pregnant Jade tried to soothe everyone bit by bit, “Mom, don’t blame yourself. Trust me, I’m really healthy, safe, and quite the troublemaker. I didn’t want to bother you today, so I called Mia and Anya.”

“Dad, it’s one thing for Mom to be soft-hearted, but you’re a man; you’ve got to be strong. Not a single hair, no! Not even a drop of sweat was lost. I might have been in danger, but I’m perfectly fine.”

“Grandma, please take away these jinx-repelling pajamas. I’m not cursed, nor have I attracted any bad luck.”

“Grandpa, I always thought you were the wisest in the family. Calm down, alright? I’ve already had blood drawn twice today. I’m running low on blood and would rather not go through it again.”

“Chad, say something. Mom plans to keep me glued to her side for protection; Dad’s ready to bring the doctor here; Grandma’s into superstitious beliefs thinking I’ve attracted trouble; Grandpa even wants me to get checked at the hospital.” Clearly, she’s the one who’s pregnant and needs comforting, so why is she the one comforting everyone else?

Chad sat beside his wife, holding her hand, and slowly began to speak.

“Mom, even if you went with Molly, in real danger, no one can protect her like Mia can.

Dad, bringing the doctor here is just for a superficial check-up; the detailed examination still needs the hospital’s equipment.

Grandma, I’m the one who attracted the trouble, chase it away from me instead.

Grandpa, Molly’s already been checked today. I’ll go with her to the hospital for another check-up in a few days.”

Molly nodded, “Right, what Chad said is exactly what I wanted to say.”

Kendrick asked his son, “Chad, what exactly happened this time that involved the entire family?”

Chad replied, “Three locations were raided, involving large sums. Escaping severe punishment might be tough; it’s retaliation against me.”

Molly, hugging Chad’s arm and resting her chin on his shoulder, listened intently. “Chad, have you wrapped it up?”

Chad turned to look at his wife so close, his love evident as he hugged her, “Almost.”

He turned his face, kissing Molly lightly on the cheek, unseen by the family, felt only by Molly. She raised her hand, wrapping it around Chad’s neck, “Chad, we need to thank Mia.”

“I will,” Chad held his wife a little longer.

As he was about to take Molly back to the room to sleep, his phone rang; it was Easton calling.
