Chapter 913
Lewis‘ timing was too coincidental Larissa had just told Marilyn that Lewis was not free, and now he was inviting her to have dinner.
No matter how it was, it looked like Larissa was the one who had done something on purpose to “break up” this couple from becoming real.
“Mr. Logan Junior.” Larissa tried to distance hersell from it all. “Why are you leaving so early today?”
“It’s the weekend.” Lewis‘ response was simple and to the point. “So, do you want to go grab dinner with me?” he asked again.
Worried that Larissa would say no, he added, “My treat.”
“Uh…” Larissa hesitated before an idea hit her. “Why don’t we bring Marilyn? Marilyn was going to treat you too, right?”
Marilyn was a little panicked at being named by Larissa. She smiled awkwardly and said. “Next time maybe. Isn’t Mr. Logan Junior going to treat you today? I won’t interrupt.”
Marilyn hurried back to her workplace and grabbed her bag in preparation to leave. That bag-
Lewis lacked at it for a moment.
Sensing his gaze. Marilyn automatically touched the bag a bit. “Thank you for Mr. Logan Junior’s gift. I like it very much! If you’re free. I’d like to treat you to a meal as a way to express my gratitude!”
“No need.” Lewis rejected her outright. “It’s enough that you like the gift.”
Marilyn’s expression dulled at once. “I guess I’ll go then.” She waved at them and escaped in her heels.
“You did that on purpose, didn’t you?” Larissa asked Lewis. He was not that dumb to invite her out for a meal in front of other people.
Lewis snorted coldly. “You should be glad I didn’t fucking deal with you in person.”
“Huh?” Larissa cid not understand his meaning. “Why would you need to deal with me?”
“Think about what you’ve said to Uncle Gary about me and Marilyn?” Lewis hinted at her.
Larissa wilted Immediately. “Why does Dad tell you everything!” She was really annoyed.
“He didn’t tell me directly, but he asked tentatively if I had feelings for Marilyn. But this isn’t something that Uncle Gary would da, only you. “Lewis did not even need to think to know who was planning all this behind the scenes.
