Blood trailed behind Ethan in every step he took, his feet were burning, but he didn’t feel it. The only thing in his mind was how to get Aliana the help she needed. He couldn’t care less about himself.
"Iris! Please, help her! Help her!" Ethan watched how Iris and the lycan managed to take down one of the dragons.
This was the first time for him to see this ancient creature, where he had been fussing about because he didn’t have a chance to see it when they fought the creature in the Silver River pack.
However, he was not even thrilled to see five of them.
Iris immediately stood up and rushed toward Ethan, as the gamma put Aliana down on the wet ground. Rain kept pouring down from the night sky and the wind howled in the distance.
"That Serafim couldn’t save her, the other people couldn’t save her too!" Ethan said hastily, reporting everything to Iris. He was in distress and he talked a few more thing incoherently. His whole body was shaking and he couldn’t stop himself from talking so fast.
"Okay, I understood. You need to calm down, okay. You need to calm down," Iris said, trying to make Ethan stopped talking.
"Save her!" Ethan snapped, but then he apologized when the lycan let out a warning growl, which made the gamma whimpered.
Iris was already on it, as she tried to get rid of the spiderlings within Aliana’s body. She gritted her teeth when she found out the spiderlings had eaten half of her lungs and it grew very fast. She was not sure whether this was normal or not, but these creatures’ development was abnormal. Was it because of the black magic within them.
"Hold her," Iris said to Ethan. "This will be painful, you need to hold it, okay?" This time, Iris talked to Aliana, her voice was gentle and soothing.
For a moment, Aliana relax, she thought she would be able to hold it, but as it turned out the pain was unbearable. Ethan needed to sit on top of her and held both of her hands above her head to stop her from moving around, while Iris tried her best to end this as soon as possible.
"Hold it!" Iris said, she was having a hard time to pinpoint the exact spot of the spiderlings because it moved so fast within her body. A second later Aliana coughed blood, the gurgling sound from her throat made Ethan wanted to cry.
Because Ethan was sitting above her, he could see the agony in Aliana’s eyes, as she tried her hardest to hold it back, but she couldn’t. She kept thrashing her body and cried in pain.
"How long!? Are you done?! She is in so much pain!" Ethan shouted, as if Iris couldn’t hear him.
Meanwhile, the lycan didn’t seem to have any interested to watch this, as his focus was on somewhere else. He raised his muzzle and sniffed the air, he knew the dragon was not the end, it was only the beginning and just like what he thought, the roaring sound from under the ground could be heard one more time.
Because of the rain, it put off the fire, but the poisonous miasma was still there, though the smoke that came from it less toxic.
Once again, the ground was shaking and the last dragon that Rei managed to tame flapped its wings, while the man gathered his people to get a better control on this creature.
"What is that...?" Lou asked in bewilderment when he heard buzzing sound that came approaching them.
Far from them, they could see thousand of bats heading toward them, but behind them, they could see Nefilim and more monsters that they had never seen before.
"What the fuck..." Lou breathed in depression. "Tell me that you have a plan of how to fight them all." He glanced at Cezi and Jace.
For now, they only managed to save forty percent of the total number of the warriors, while the rest of them were either their lives essence had been sucked by Rei or being burned by the dragone fire. It was gut wrenching to watch how they died in vain.
However, at time like this, they didn’t even have time to mourn what they lost and focus on how to survive this unfair battle.
"Yes. Not getting killed." Jace narrowed his eyes. These monsters had to go through them first before they could reach the people from the Holy Kingdom.
Lou scowled at the answer. "What a great plan you have."
"We need to move out of the way." Cezi said and then repeated it again in loud voice. "Move aside!"
Their current position was in disadvantage, where they were in the cross path between the monsters and the people from the Holy Kingdom.
"Move to the side!" Jace repeated the order, he read Cezi’s plan on how to save them from being massacred brutally by these monsters, as they were outnumbered greatly.
"You! Help me with the protection!" Lou talked to Abby. He was being rude, but no one could call him out at time like this.
Abby then immediately created a protection shield around them, she drew her power from the Sylph, suppressing her agitation because she hated the fact that she was even weaker than Iris’s real protector.
"What now?" Lou asked Jace and Cezi.
"Let the people from the Holy Kingdom to deal with those monsters." Jace frowned when he watched those monsters stepped on the cocoons that filled with their warriors. Needless to say, they already died.
The only Iris’s personal warriors that they could save was only Kian and Zephyr. They lost Eron, Dyne and Otis. They found Redmond in the last minute and he still had not yet regained his consciousness, but they lost Amee and many more...
This so many deaths were something they didn’t even predict. They didn’t even expect it at all. They came fully prepared, but Rei had his own plan and used the shifters for his own advantage to replenish his strength and to create illusion for the dragon, so he could control them.
