When Marie saw the laboratory report, she was stunned. She grabbed the nurse and asked again, “What did 

you say? Noel has type-A blood?” 

The nurse shook her off impatiently and said, “Yes! I’m busy transferring the blood bank over! Don’t make 

things worse!” 

Marie sat on the chair outside the emergency room, deep in thought. She remembered that Mason had type-B 

blood and Mia had type-0 blood. If their children didn’t have type-B, then logically they should have type-O blood. She couldn’t comprehend why Noel had type-A blood. 

It was impossible for the hospital to get the wrong blood type, so there was only one possibility. Noel was not Mason’s son at all, which was why this happened. 

Looking at the conflicted expression on Marie’s face as she held the laboratory report, Luca asked, “What’s 

wrong, Marie?” 

Coming back to her senses, Marie said, “Go and find out what type of blood Olive and Carly have.” 

“Huh?” Luca was taken aback. 

“Whether it’s bribing the doctor or hacking into the computer system, help me check the blood type of the two 

of them,” Marie said. 

Luca nodded and went to do it immediately. 

Marie recalled that she had seen Mia sneaking into the hotel before, and last time she said she would go to 

Bordeaux to see Carly but didn’t go at all, perhaps she went to meet her lover. 

If Mia had a lover and these children were all born with him, does that mean Mason was being deceived all this while? Had he been raising children that belonged to other men for all these years? Marie pondered. If 

this is true, why bother with it? Mason will kick her out himself! 

Marie was thinking about it. Dennis had also asked Cullen to check on Mia before, but it seemed that he 

didn’t find anything. It was time to investigate it thoroughly this time. 

Suddenly, her phone rang. Edward called her and said in an urgent voice, “Marie, bad news! Old Mr. Pierce has 

fainted!” 

Feeling anxious, she asked, “Grandpa fainted? Where is he now?” 

-“He was taken to Dr. Hart’s place by ambulance!” Edward said. 

After hanging up the phone, Marie was ready to go to Gavin’s hospital. However, Noel was lying in the emergency room, so she had no choice but to call Olive. 

Olive picked up the phone and said sourly, “Marie, why are you calling me?” 

“Noel had a car accident. He’s in the emergency room of Primary Medical. Please come over,” Marie said straightforwardly.

“What? Noel had a car accident? What did you do to my brother again, you vicious woman?” Olive scolded her 

on the phone. 

Upon hearing that tone, Marie realized that Olive still cared about Noel. There was no need for her to meddle further. She hung up the phone and called Luca to take her to Gavin’s hospital. 

Marie rushed over in a hurry. Asher was in the emergency room, while Edward and Jolie were guarding 

outside the door. She ran over and asked, “What’s going on? Why did Grandpa faint?” 

“I was taking a walk with Old Mr. Spence when he suddenly asked me to pour him coffee, so I went to do so. 

When I came back, he had already fainted on the ground. It’s all my fault. If I had stayed by Old Mr. Spence’s side the whole time, he wouldn’t have fainted.” Inundated with guilt, Edward bowed his head. Having been 

with Asher for most of his life, he blamed himself greatly. 

Marie comforted, “Edward, don’t say that. Grandpa will be fine.” 

After waiting outside for two hours, the lights in the emergency room finally went out. Gavin came out and 

took off his mask. He looked at Marie and sighed, saying, “Come with me to the office.” 

Looking at Gavin’s expression, Marie was worried. She instructed Edward and Jolie to take care of Asher in 

the ward. Then, she followed Gavin to the office. As soon as she entered, she immediately asked, “What’s 

wrong? Is there something wrong with Grandpa?” 

Gavin washed his hands and said, “This is a sudden brain hemorrhage. Although the operation was 

successful, I can’t guarantee how long he will last.” 

Stunned, Marie asked, “What brain hemorrhage? What are you talking about? Grandpa was doing fine a while 

ago!” 

Gavin sighed and said, “Old Mr. Spence is getting old, so he will naturally have more and more problems. This time, the rescue was done in time, so there is nothing serious. But if there is a next time, it won’t be so easy.” 

Anxiously, Marie asked, “Is there any other alternative? What medication does he need? What type of 

surgery?” 

Gavin shook his head. “He’s getting old, and he can’t undergo surgery easily. Just take good care of him and 

make him feel at ease. Don’t let him be sad and angry. Don’t get emotional too much. There should still be a few years left.” 

Frowning, Marie nodded. As soon as she walked out of Gavin’s office, tears rolled down her cheeks.
