Chapter 195

Edward and Jolie tugged at Mason and Mia as they persuaded, “Sir, Madam, please go back first. Old Mr.
Spence can’t listen to these things now…”
Luca called for someone to kick them out. There were too many people gathered. Everyone was talking over each other, and the noise was causing a headache.
Asher slammed his cane on the ground and demanded angrily, “Shut up! All of you shut up!”
No one heard him except Marie, who tried calming him down. “Grandpa, don’t be angry. I’ll make them leave right now. Don’t be angry…” she started to say.
Before she could finish her sentence, Asher collapsed. Fortunately, she managed to catch him before his
head hit the coffee table.
“Grandpa! Grandpa!” shouted Marie, but he fell to the ground, completely unconscious.
Everyone’s attention turned to them, too dumbfounded at the sudden sight of Asher to continue arguing.
“Dad!” Mason and Mia cried, wanting to rush over.
With a steely expression, Marie shouted, “Edward! Call an ambulance!”
Edward made the call in a panic, while Jolie called Gavin to inform him that Asher had fainted again.
Mia and Mason pushed away the servants and were about to run over, but Marie gave them a cold glare and
demanded, “Luca! Get them out of here!”
She initially considered the health of Asher and was cautious not to be too rude toward Mason and Mia,
fearing that doing so might anger him.
However, at this moment, it didn’t matter what methods Luca used to get them away as long as the two were
chased out.
Luca and the housekeeper forced the two to leave. They only listened to Marie in this mansion, so regardless
of Mason’s and Mia’s identities, as long as Marie gave the order, they would take action.
The ambulance soon arrived, and the medical staff carried Asher into the ambulance. Marie and Edward got on as well. Luca followed behind in his car, speeding to the hospital.
Gavin was already waiting outside the emergency room. As soon as he saw Asher, he followed and entered
the emergency room without sparing the time to greet Marie.
Stopped by the door, Marie stared at the red light above the emergency room, her heart pounding. She was
terrified. However, without Dennis by her side this time, she had to calm down to handle the situation.
Edward looked at her and said, “Ms. Marie, Old Mr. Spence will be alright. Don’t worry.”
Staring unblinkingly at the emergency room, she said, “Yes, Grandpa will be fine.”
As long as she didn’t admit or collapse, Asher would be fine. This old man must come out of the emergency
room safely, she thought.
Edward hesitated before saying, “Ms. Marie, Old Mr. Spence told me to tell you that if there comes a day he
cannot hold on any longer, he has property abroad that you can live in at any time. It has already been
transferred to you.”
Stunned, Marie asked, “Grandpa wants me to go abroad?”
Edward sighed and replied, “Old Mr. Spence was afraid that you and Mr. Whitney wouldn’t last and that you’d
be bullied. That’s why he arranged for you to go abroad as a backup plan. Don’t overthink it.”
Marie nodded and grabbed her sweater, not knowing what to say then. That old man has already quietly
taken care of all the arrangements, she thought.
Marie didn’t need to ask to know that Asher had left his shares to Noel. In Asher’s heart, Noel was always his
precious grandson.
She didn’t care about the shares, the property, or the money. All she cared about was whether Asher could
emerge from the emergency room safely tonight.
Time slowly went by. Marie was extremely anxious but still had to maintain a calm demeanor. Otherwise, the
Spence family would be a mess.
The dead silence of the corridor reminded her of Noel’s background, Mia’s schemes, Mason’s ridicule, and her
mother’s innocence.
She couldn’t ignore what mattered to her. She couldn’t tolerate Mia living comfortably in the Spence mansion,
much less seeing Mason living in harmony with the Spence family.
However, after some hesitation, she turned to ask, “Edward, did Grandpa give Noel the shares?’
Edward was stunned. “That is Old Mr. Spence’s decision. I…”
“Edward, listen to me. I don’t want the shares, but they can’t be given to Noel!” She pleaded.
He didn’t understand why the usually filial Marie was fighting for the shares like Mia and the others.
Her mind seemed to be in a mess. She looked at Luca, who handed the documents to Edward. “Noel isn’t the
Spence family’s biological son. If Grandpa gives the shares to him, it means that he’s given Spence Group to
an outsider,” she explained.
Edward flipped through the document. The more he read, the more surprised he was. “Is… Is this true?”
Marie nodded. “Why would I forge a copy of the information just to lie to you at a time like this?”
He sighed and exclaimed, “What a misfortune! Ms. Marie, Old Mr. Spence’s will has already been notarized. Unless he wakes up, nobody can change It!”
Marle immediately ordered, “Luca, keep an eye on Mia and Mason. Make sure they don’t make trouble at the
hospital. Edward, call Grandpa’s lawyer.”
Luca and Edward sprang into action. However, whether they could revise the will would ultimately depend on whether Gavin could save Old Mr. Spence.
