The Beauty and the Brain by Natalie Jones novel Chapter 203

Chapter 203

Marie looked at Dennis with determined eyes. Dennis’s expression stiffened for a moment. He knew what she was going to do, but before he could speak, she raised her

hand and took off the mask on her face.

Dennis wanted to scold her. She’s so stupid. Did she think she could save us by taking off the mask? This would only make Driscoll even more annoyed.

Marie smiled and said, “You want to see my face? I’ll show it to you.”

When Driscoll saw that Marie’s appearance was exactly the same as in the photo, he

asked, “Who are you?”

Her mouth curled up, and her smile was captivating, yet she looked like she dominated the world. At this moment, she was like a queen on the battlefield. She said word by word, “I told you long ago, Driscoll, I am Rose, the one who makes your men tremble!”

Driscoll looked at her with a sneer and said, “Are you Rose? Ha! Do you still want to lie.

to me when the photos are here?”

She smiled and looked at Dennis with tenderness in her eyes. She said, “Can’t the female assassin fall in love with the domineering CEO? I quit the job long ago.”

With a sinister smile, Driscoll said, “If you quit this industry, you should go completely: If you come back again, you will die! Men, tie the both of them up!”

Someone rushed in and pressed Marie down on the seat. Under her feet was Dennis, who

was covered in wounds.

She struggled, but it didn’t work. The few strapping men were too strong and pressed

her tightly.

Driscoll pointed his gun at Dennis and said, “I’ll kill you first, and then I’ll kill Clayton – for revenge!”

Marie shouted, “Stop it! Stop it! I killed Landon! Not Dennis!”

Driscoll was stunned. “What did you say?”

Staring at him, Marie enunciated, “I’m the one who killed Landon at Witton Manor. I

used a Barrett sniper rifle. One shot to the head, 650 yards away.”

Dennis raised his head and looked at her. What was this damned woman talking about? Did she know that Driscoll might shoot her?

Driscoll strode over and slapped her hard on the face. “Bitch! Did you do that?”

Driscoll had been on the battlefield for a long time, and his strength was different from ordinary people. This slap caused Marie’s head to turn sideways. Blood flowed down the

corner of her mouth, and half of her face immediately swelled.

Dennis stared fixedly at her. Could this woman shut up? Did she want to be beaten to

death here?

With a sneer, Marie spat her saliva and blood on the ground. She turned her head to look at Driscoll with determination and fearlessness in her eyes and said, “Didn’t you want revenge? Then you don’t have to look for Clayton. I killed your reckless brother. Do you know why? Because he pointed a gun at my man, so I aimed at his head, and without hesitation, I shot him in the head without even blinking…”

Driscoll grabbed her chin with one hand and forced her to look straight at him. He held a pistol in one hand and pointed it at her throat. His eyes were vicious, and he gritted his teeth and said, “Bitch! I’ll kill you right now!”

The muzzle of the gun was pressed against her jaw, and she was forced to raise her head. She then tried to best to look down. Looking at Dennis, she squeezed out a smile at the

corner of her mouth.

She didn’t have a good life in her previous life. She thought she would never have to risk. her life again, but she didn’t expect to die at gunpoint in the end. However, she didn’t regret it.

Perhaps it was because she had tried her best to save Dennis, even if she had to sacrifice her life for him. Those unavenged grudges and unfulfilled wishes were not as important as the man before her.

Even If, in the end, Dennis still couldn’t escape death, at least Marie didn’t leave him behind and barely survived. That was what she was like. When she hadn’t made up her mind, she hesitated and dawdled, but as long as she made a decision, she would give everything, including her life.

Perhaps the only regret was that she didn’t have time to tell Dennis about her feelings. The damned gun was pointed at her throat, stopping her from speaking. She suddenly

remembered that the best thing she had ever said to Dennis was just a simple and flippant confession like “I like you.”

“No! No!” Dennis struggled to get up. He was severely injured, but the two burly ment couldn’t completely hold him down now.

Dennis had been a strategist all his life. Before he returned to the Whitney family, he

was cautious. After returning to the Whitney family, he was always calm and noble. He

had never been in a mess and helpless like this moment.

He was pinned to the floor, and his sculpture-like handsome face was covered in dust, but he couldn’t care less about anything else and couldn’t think of any other way. All he could think about was that this woman named Marie was going to die.

Memories came flooding from when she fell into his arms until now, as she sat there fearlessly and waited for the death sentence. He had forgotten how painful the wounds

on his body were. He only knew that if the girl in front of him died, he couldn’t live

anymore.

The two burly men desperately held Dennis down, but Dennis kept struggling to get up and reached out to grab the foot of her pants. He only had eyes for her. Even if both of

them ended up dead, he had to take the bullet for her. Otherwise, it would be too painful.

when such a hard bullet hit her.

Only then did Dennis realize that those critical moments in TV series were not funny. When he loved someone deeply enough, even if he knew that he would die in the end, he

hoped that the other party could live one more second because he definitely couldn’t
