The Beauty and the Brain by Natalie Jones novel Chapter 202

Chapter 202

She turned around and walked out of the room without any reluctance. Driscoll glanced at Dennis, with a sneer and said, “She’s an international top assassin. Do you want to see what she looks like? All the people you’ve seen are dead!”

Dennis looked at Marie back and murmured, “Really? A top assassin?”

Driscoll snorted and ran out with Marie. He then instructed his men to lock the door.

Perhaps she had shown too much interest toward Dennis, for when she went to see him.

again, the guard at the door followed her inside. Although he didn’t say anything, she

was clearly being monitored.

Dennis looked at the expression on her face, which was only getting colder and colder.

She couldn’t explain herself or say anything more. She could do nothing but talk

sarcastically.

“Mr. Whitney, if you keep this up, you’ll starve to death before Driscoll gets to kill you,” Marie said condescendingly.

Dennis smiled and asked, “Really? What’s your opinion on this, Ms. Rose?”

With a shrug, Marie said, “Tell me the truth. Why don’t we just tell Driscoll where Clayton is? Since Driscoll wants Clayton, I might as well put in a good word for you so that Driscoll won’t kill you.”

“Does a murderer like you know how to put in a good word?” Dennis looked at her

coldly.

However, she was not angry. She looked at Dennis seriously and said, “It’s not

impossible! Maybe I like good-looking men like you. It’s not bad to have Driscoll give

you to me as a boy toy.”

-Dennis’ face stiffened. “Boy toy?”

Marie nodded. “Yes, a boy toy. I’ll take care of you, and you’ll make me happy.”.

Dennis was speechless.

Why did he feel that Marie was flirting with him? But they should be on the verge of death now, right?

Dennis said coldly, “Thank you for your kindness, but I’d rather die than betray my brothers.”

“Mr. Whitney, everyone is out for themselves. If you’re so persistent, why don’t I go and kill Clayton first? It’ll be much easier for Driscoll to give you to me!” she said with a

smile.

“Go ahead, Ms. Rose. If Clayton gets killed so easily, it’s his own incompetence.” Dennis. closed his eyes, as if he didn’t want to talk to her anymore.

Marie sighed in her heart. If she had known this earlier, she would have explained

things to Dennis before. There was nothing more she could say to him now.

She stood up and left the room under the watchful eyes of the guards.

She came to see Dennis over and over again, and even proposed to help Driscoll kill

Clayton and give Dennis to her as a boy toy. Although she didn’t say anything excessive, Driscoll was suspicious. In the end, she asked someone to investigate the women.

around Dennis.

That day, it seemed Driscoll received news that Clayton arrived in the town outside. He

went out to check the situation with his men. With Clayton here, Marie knew Dennis’

rescue was not far off. Although, Dennis was now seriously injured and might not be

able to escape at all.

Taking advantage of the small number of people at the stronghold, Marie ran to Dennis’

room.

Dennis raised his eyes and glanced at her faintly. Then, he turned his head and asked

coldly, “What are you doing here?”

Walking over to Dennis, Marie slowly squatted down and said in a low voice, “Dennis,

I’m getting you out.

Dennis sneered and said, “Tell me, who are you?”

After a long silence, Marie lowered her head and said, “When we get out of here, I’ll tell

you everything you want to know. Please, eat something and wait for me to save you.

The girl in front of him lowered her head. She was still wearing sexy and enchanting clothes, but she had changed back to being Marie Spence. She lowered her head aggrievedly and wanted him to hug her and coax her. Anguished, she said, “Please.”

Dennis felt a pang of pain in his heart. Even if there was doubt about her Identity now, and even if she might hurt or lie to him, as long as this young girl pouted and acted coquettishly, Dennis was defenseless.

He could be angry with her and give her the cold shoulder, but he still couldn’t let go. In his life, he was really controlled by her.

“How did you get here?” Dennis asked coldly.

With a sly smile, Marie said, “I said I’m Rose, so I came in. I’m the one who brought out

the best actress. I’m good at acting!”

Dennis pulled up the corner of his mouth and smiled, tugging at his wound again. He

coughed and said, “You can go.”

Looking distressed at the bloodstains on Dennis’ body, Marie smiled and said, “Dennis, you proposed to me, and you’re going to marry me. Don’t you leave me behind.”

Dennis opened his mouth and was about to speak when the door was suddenly pushed open. A man walked in and said, “Ms. Rose, the boss is looking for you.”

Marie returned to her indifferent expression, stood up, and walked out.

Meanwhile, Driscoll was waiting for her in the lobby.

“Why are you looking for me?” she asked.

“Ms. Rose, why do you seem so interested in Mr. Whitney?” Driscoll asked.

Marie smiled and said, “I’m just looking for a man. Why do you care?”

Driscoll smiled and said, “I don’t, of course. But I’ve never heard of Rose, the famous

pervert!”

Driscoll continued, “Ms. Rose, you’ve been here for the past few days. When exactly are you heading to Europe?”

Marie looked at Driscoll and said, “As long as you’re done with these things, you can go

at any time!”

Driscoll walked over slowly and stood in front of her, saying, “Or, why don’t

us the real deal before we set off, Ms. Rose?”

With a cold expression, Marie said, “Driscoll, you know the rules, right? I showed you my face. If I end up wanted tomorrow, I’ll come back immediately to kill you!”

Driscoll smiled and replied, “It’s okay. Ms. Rose, I’m just checking to make sure that

you’re not working for Mr. Whitney.”

Although the bald boss was smiling, his eyes had changed. The way he looked at Marie didn’t look as respectful as before.
