Chapter 207
After more than an hour, Gavin walked out and said, “There are too many wounds and excessive blood loss on his body, but it has stabilized. It may take three to five days before he wakes up. Don’t worry.”
Clayton letting out a sigh of relief. Marie took a step forward and asked in a trembling voice, “He… that
means… he’s fine, isn’t it?”
Gavin nodded and said, “Marie, Dennis is fine now.”
With a smile, Marie fell to the ground. Gavin reached out to held her up, but Clayton stopped him and said, “Don’t worry about her.”
Gavin frowned and asked, “What do you mean, Clayton?”
With a cold expression, Clayton replied, “Literally.”
When Clayton’s men walked in and dragged Marie away, Gavin was anxious and shouted, “Clayton, Marie is
Dennis’s fiancée. How could you do this to her!”
With a furious look on his face, Clayton said, “If it weren’t for her, Dennis wouldn’t have been hurt like this!”
“Clayton! When Dennis wakes up, if a hair is missing from Marie’s head, he will turn against you!” Gavin said
exasperatedly.
Clayton turned around, his expression icy and resolute, and stated, “I would prefer him to turn against me
rather than allowing someone like Rose, an assassin, to remain by his side.”
When Marie regained consciousness, she found herself confined in a cramped and dimly lit room. Despite Clayton being the one who had locked her up, he did not subject her to any form of torture. In fact, he
arranged for someone to administer intravenous injections and ensured she received three meals daily, punctually. The only restraints she had were handcuffs securely fastened around her wrists.
Marle was nestled in this small dark room. She didn’t know day or night and she couldn’t eat anything. Before
she met Dennis, she couldn’t eat anything.
When Clayton came to question her, she was lying on the bed in a daze. Clayton arranged a chair and sat
down. He asked, “Should I call you Ms. Spence or Ms. Rose?”
Staring at the ceiling, Marie remained silent.
Clayton sighed and said, “Ms. Spence, I didn’t torture you. I’m not interested in beating up wornen at all. I just
want to know what you’re doing by staying with Dennis.*
Marie sat up from the bed, hugged her knees, looked at Clayton, and asked, “If I give you an answer, can I see
Gavin?”
Clayton nodded. “Sure.”
Marie smiled like a child who had received candy and said, “I love him, so I stayed by his side.”
Clayton frowned and asked, “You’re Rose, aren’t you? Although I don’t have any more information, I’m sure
you’re not that Ms. Spence from the Spence family.”

With her head tilted, Marie smiled and said, “I want to tell Dennis about this first, and then he can tell you,
okay?”
Clayton stood up and walked toward the door. Suddenly, he asked, “Did you really murdered Landon?”
Marie nodded with a faint smile. “Yes, it was me. I was the sniper, both at that moment and in the warehouse.
along the coast.”
This answer had solved most of Clayton’s questions. He paused and said, “I’ll ask Gavin to come over.”
“Thank you.” The girl’s soft voice came from behind, completely different from what Driscoll’s subordinates
described as cold-blooded and cruel.
After waiting in bed for five minutes, the door was opened again. Gavin walked in and asked, “Are you okay,
Marie?”
Marie poked her head out of the door and asked, “Is it sunny?”
Gavin was stunned for a moment before realizing that she couldn’t see the weather outside in the dim room.
He nodded and said, “Yes, the weather is good.”
Narrowing her eyes, Marie smiled and asked, “Gavin, how is Dennis?”
Gavin also smiled at her and said, “Don’t worry, Dennis is fine. The wound is not critical. He will wake up in
the next two days.”
Marie let out a long sigh and said, “That’s good, that’s good.”
“Marie, are… are you really Rose?” Gavin asked hesitantly.
Marie smiled, lowered her head, and said, “I want to tell Dennis first.”
Gavin nodded in understanding.
He felt that Marie was a very unique girl. She was a completely cold-blooded assassin when she was obviously in a life-and-death situation with Dennis. She was so skillful in disguise and murdering. But when
Dennis was in danger, she almost lost her mind and begged them to save Dennis.
But now that Dennis was fine, Marie suddenly calmed down. Even if she was locked up here by Clayton, she was not dissatisfied at all, as if she had suddenly turned into that perfectly harmless person again.
After Gavin left, the small room fell into darkness and silence again. After waiting for a long time, the door
was opened. A figure flashed in, sat on a chair, and said, “Shall we go?”
With her head lowered, Marie drew circles on the bed with her fingers and said, “Kate, I haven’t seen him get better yet.”
Kate sighed and said, “Marie, what if Clayton decides to end you?”
Marie smiled and said, “But I still want to see him again. I don’t want to run away.”

“Marie, after you escape, you will have many opportunities to see him in the future. Be good, okay?” Kate
said.
As soon as they got off the plane, they spied on this side, and it was not easy to find out where Marie was.
Everything was ready now, and they just needed to wait for a good chance to take her away.
Marie lowered her head and was silent for a long time before saying, “I’ll leave tomorrow night, okay? I’ll wait
another day.”
Kate sighed and said, “I’ll pick you up tomorrow night.”
Marie nodded. A gust of wind blew, and the door closed again. Kate disappeared without a trace, as if she
had never been here before.
It was midnight when Dennis woke up in a daze. He struggled to sit up from the bed, and the wounds on his
