Harmony POV.
It has been a month since my baby shower/engagement party. Today is the wedding. But I feel off. Maybe it is just my nerves and I’m being silly.
Mav stayed at the clubhouse last night. I have all the bridesmaids here with me. It felt strange waking up without Mav next to me. But I know I should be used to it, especially when he goes on runs with the club. But this feels different.
My parents have not had him going on runs lately with me being so close to my due date, just in case something happens so he is close by, but I had his pillow a few of his shirts so I could still smell him. Hell, even Melly climbed into our bed not long after I went to bed. I think she knows something is up because she has been extra clingy lately.
I’m putting it down to the excitement of today. I yawn as I let Michelle finish doing my hair. I sip my juice as the rest of my bridal party all drink champagne. Melly is helping Michelle by passing the hair accessories.
Melly looks beautiful in her flower girl dress, its lilac satin, and tulle. A real little princess dress. Her long black hair has been curled and styled in a half up, half down hair do.
The rest of my bridesmaids are all wearing pastel colours in the same A line, one shoulder style dress. They all look beautiful, but I can’t shake the feeling something is wrong.
Momma and I organised this wedding at record speed. Everything was done and organised. After all, I am apparently the organisation queen. Everything was colour coded in a planner and my parents spared no expense.
The local church even agreed to send their priest to marry us. The clubhouse is where we will say our vows. The Moretti side of the family will be there and so will the mafia king and queen. Hell, everyone is coming. Even the Mother’s Revenge will be there. The local sheriffs have closed the roads for the traditional ride through and we have a lot of other clubs coming too. It’s a damn good thing the compound can hold that many people.
There have been gazebos set up outside to accommodate everyone. Over a thousand people will be in attendance. Anyone would think it’s a royal wedding. According to my momma, it kinda is. I just let her get on with it.
“There, you sweetie are done.” Michelle says after placing the last bobby pin in my hair and I look at my refection in the mirror and I look beautiful.
My long blonde hair is in an elegant bun with strands that frame my face. My make-up is light and natural. Just how I like it. I look at Melody.
“What do you think?” I ask her and she smiles really big at me as she hugs me.
“You look like an angel, mommy.” She says, and I sniffle and kiss her, pulling her tighter into me.
“Ok, we need to get you dressed.” My momma says, and I didn’t realise she walked in. I turn to look at her and wince as I moved too fast.
“Harmony, you ok?” she asks as she comes closer to me and I nod my head at her as Michelle helps me stand.
“Yeah, just twisted too fast. I’m good. So shall we?” I ask her and she eyes me suspiciously and nods her head, sucking on her teeth and I roll my eyes as I waddle to where my dress is hanging up.
I went for a maxi style Grecian dress. In white. It has little diamonds scattered around the dress, not too much bling, just the right amount. Plus, it is comfy over my bump and easy to pull on. No corset back or endless amounts of puffy tulle. I’m not a princess type girl.
I am the nerdy chic girl, so this is as much glamour as I will do, plus it is only for today. Tomorrow I will go back to my elasticated shorts and t-shirt.
I do scrub up well though, or as Michelle calls it, polish and shine. So yeah, my momma helps me into my dress and then I push my feet into my flats. No sky high heels like my bridesmaids are wearing. Not with my cankles at least.
Once I’m ready, we have pictures taken and I’m becoming uncomfortable, like I need to walk or something. I feel like a caged animal, anxious and needing to be free. Speaking of caged animals, I look at Mystique and she looks beautiful.
She is wearing a diamond collar, a gift from the DeAngelis family. It goes beautifully with Mystiques colourings. She, of course, will be part of the wedding and will walk with Melody down the aisle. I couldn’t leave her out. She is as much as part of this family as I am.
