He was just a stuffy and serious old bureaucrat, and even though she wasn't feeling her best, she couldn't just refuse him because of that.
"Are you coming back to Anglonia then?" Calvin's gaze lingered on her.
"Of course! No matter what, I have to see things through! We still have time left on our shared apartment lease, don't worry! I'll keep up with the rent."
His laughter broke through, followed by an endless melancholy.
After a while, Calvin chuckled, "Alright, that's great! It's clear he really cares about you! Losing to someone like him, I'm not ashamed."
"Please! It's not like I agreed to be with him just because of his looks."
Although Miles's face was indeed flawless.
"After I get back to the hotel, I'll pack up and prepare to leave the country."
"You're not staying a few more days?"
Calvin spread his hands, "I've already bought all the hot sauce I came for, it's time to head back."
Felicity could see his face, clearly Calvin was smiling, those deep dimples showing, yet she could feel his melancholy.
"Calvin."
"Hmm?"
"You'll definitely find a great girlfriend in the future, because you're a good man."
At that, he waved his hands dismissively.
"Don’t go handing me the 'nice guy' card; that’s my biggest fear in life!" Calvin grinned, "Come on, don't worry about me! I'm not short on female attention, why make the mood so gloomy!"
"..."
"So, you're waiting for him here?"
Felicity nodded.
"Alright, then I'll head off first. I slept so poorly, my neck hurts; I need a good sleep back at the hotel!" Calvin stood up, his back to her, waved his hand, "I'm off, take care."
"Mhm."
Watching him stride away, Felicity felt a pang of discomfort.
It wasn't that she regretted choosing Miles over him, but...
Fresh air finally filled her lungs, and she felt revived.
Miles's eyes fixed on her, a trace of blood on his lip from her bite.
"Are you considering dating Calvin?"
His voice was laced with possessiveness the moment he spoke.
"Still thinking about it." Felicity refused to give him a straight answer.
After clenching his fists a few times, Miles suddenly grabbed her arm and shoved her into the car!
"What are you doing? Where are you taking me? I want to get out!"
This side of him felt unfamiliar to Felicity.
"Abigail told me not to rush things with you, to give you time, to start with dating! Now I've changed my mind—"
"Let's get married first, then we can date slowly!"
With a marriage license in hand, we have a lifetime to date.
