"You promised we'd talk about marriage after meeting," Aurora said, rolling her eyes and settling back onto the barstool, "Fine, fine, your call."
What on earth did Craig want to discuss with her parents anyway?
They had chosen a new barbecue joint in Eldorria City, which was surprisingly bustling with people.
Lucky for them, Aurora had called ahead to reserve a spot. They could dive right into the feast upon arrival.
"Later, we'll swing by the hospital to check on your mom, then maybe take a look at your place, alright?" Craig suggested. He'd been out of Eldorria City for a few days, and Amelie was probably worried sick.
"I've already called her. I'll stop by this evening."
"Okay then."
Craig, flipping the meat on the grill with his tongs, moved some onto Aurora's plate as soon as it cooked.
"That's too much, I can't finish all this. You'll have to help me out!" she protested.
Only then did Craig start eating himself.
After their meal, as they headed to check out the house, Aurora sensed something was off with Craig today. Ever since he had showered earlier, he seemed to be brooding over something, silent.
Unsurprisingly, it was probably because of that conversation with the logistics company owner's daughter. It was an awkward situation.
Aurora wasn't sure how to encourage him not to dwell on it too much. Especially since Craig hadn't brought it up himself, and it might seem like she was overly concerned if she did.
Her biggest fear was that after they went their separate ways tonight, Craig might suddenly text her, calling off the wedding. It had happened once before, and Aurora genuinely feared a repeat.
"Aurora."
Craig's sudden call startled her, "Huh? Yes?"
"What are you thinking about?"
"Just random stuff, hahaha! What's up?"
"Did your brother make it to Anglonia? Did he catch up with her?"
Aurora really wanted to just turn around and hide back in the car, but it was too late. Their eyes had already met.
"Aurora?"
"...Hey..." She managed an awkward smile as Duncan approached, "What a coincidence! What brings you here?"
"Just checking out some properties," Aurora could feel Craig's gaze on her back but he didn't come closer.
Duncan glanced at the man behind her, assuming he was the Lopez family's driver.
Quite a handsome driver for the Lopez family, he thought.
"Interested in this property?"
"Yeah."
"Like it for work convenience?" Duncan gestured towards the real estate office, "This is my uncle's development. Pick any unit you like—I'll gift it to you!"
