Now, everything had changed, and Craig felt like he'd lost everything he once held dear.
Besides thinking "serves me right," Craig couldn't find the words to curse himself.
Aurora watched him open the door and walk out, disappearing from view entirely.
Her eyes brimmed with tears she could no longer hold back, and soon they rolled down her cheeks like raindrops.
Once the first tear fell, the rest followed uncontrollably.
Aurora cried as she wiped her face, but no matter how much she tried, she couldn't dry the tears away completely.
She didn't want her parents or her brother to see her like this.
They already worried about her so much, and she felt guilty about it.
She sat with her head down, not knowing how much time had passed until there was a knock on her bedroom door.
"Abigail? How are you holding up?"
It was her mother, Dorothy.
Aurora quickly wiped her face and took a few deep breaths before making her way to the door.
She opened it with a forced smile.
"Mom, I'm okay."
Dorothy sighed when she saw her daughter in this state.
She reached out and gently stroked Aurora's hair. "Abigail, don't keep it all bottled up inside. You've got family, after all."
Dorothy had seen Craig leave earlier, and when her daughter hadn't emerged from her room for so long afterward, she could tell something was wrong.
No one knows a daughter better than her mother.
Dorothy understood her daughter well.
"Mom, I'm sorry... for making you and Dad worry all the time."
"What are you talking about? We're family!" Dorothy wiped a tear from the corner of Aurora's eye. "Alright, go wash up. Your brother and Felicity are here. Let’s all chat for a while. It might take your mind off things."
Aurora nodded, "Yeah, okay."
As Dorothy turned to leave, Aurora grabbed her hand.
Miles stood behind Felicity, and seeing her expression when she talked about the baby tugged at his heart.
He knew that having a child was a hurdle Felicity struggled to overcome.
She loved kids.
That's why she was so attentive to all the details about Abigail's child!
Unfortunately...
She couldn't have one of her own.
Thinking of this, Miles instinctively wrapped an arm around Felicity's shoulders.
"Hmm?"
Felicity was startled and looked up at him.
"Nothing, just felt like holding you."
"You should be focusing on your sister right now, not hugging me!"
