Felicity shot a discreet glance at Miles behind her.
His sister had just finalized her divorce and was feeling pretty down. So why was he flaunting his relationship right in front of her?
Men can be so thoughtless, acting on impulse without considering the bigger picture.
Miles only realized his blunder after catching Felicity's pointed look. He quickly turned his attention to his sister, Aurora.
But Aurora didn’t seem bothered.
With a gentle smile, she said warmly, “Seeing you and Felicity happy, Miles, puts my mind at ease. You’ve been through so much together; don’t ever let anything tear you apart again.”
“Yeah,” Miles agreed, wrapping his arm around Felicity’s shoulder. “We’re not going anywhere.”
...
Meanwhile, Craig had returned home and started drinking.
His phone, discarded on the couch, buzzed repeatedly, but he had no intention of picking it up.
At this moment, he didn’t want to talk to anyone or hear anyone’s voice.
For the first time, Craig felt utterly despondent.
He wished he could just drink himself into oblivion, hoping no one would intervene.
But deep down, Craig knew he couldn’t.
Even though he and Aurora were divorced, they still had a son together...
It wasn’t a complete end.
Craig had no idea how much time had passed or how much he had drunk by the time there was a knock at the door.
He rose unsteadily, his tall frame swaying as he made his way to open it.
Standing outside was none other than Miles!
“Craig, you’ve got a kid with Aurora now. I hope you’ll step up and be a role model for your son, rather than just drowning your sorrows in booze.”
The Lopez family never looked down on anyone for not being rich.
Their parents taught them from a young age that everyone deserves respect. So Miles didn’t care that his brother-in-law wasn’t wealthy.
He came over to offer support, hoping Craig would pull through this tough patch.
Even though the marriage had ended, they were all family once, and they still shared a connection through the kid.
“I’m just having a rough day. Don’t worry, I won’t let it get the best of me.”
Craig knew the weight he carried was his alone to bear.
Besides his son, he had a mother to think about.
If he were to give up, what would become of her?
