Ronan handed a credit card to Cordelia. "This is a supplementary card for my credit card. You can use it."
"Do I need to pay it back?" Cordelia asked, batting her eyelashes thoughtfully at Ronan.
"You're turning down five million, so feel free to spend this money."
Cordelia thought to herself, “Well, I'm about to get paid, and once I do, I'll have money. So this credit card can be a backup.”
"What's the password? I'll jot it down." Cordelia prepared to take out her phone to record the password.
"000215."
"Does this password have any special meaning? So I can remember it." Cordelia asked him.
Ronan was silent for a moment, then said, "It's my birthday."
"Oh, your birthday, I totally forgot." Cordelia pretended to be very surprised. In fact, she didn't forget, she just never knew. She was afraid Ronan would mock her again for not knowing his age, so she had to find an excuse.
"You don't have to pretend. There's a difference between not knowing and forgetting."
His birthday was some day after payday, so, Cordelia still had time to prepare. But what should she get him for his birthday? She couldn't buy him underwear as a birthday gift because she had already promised that before.
