In the evening, Janice prepared dinner.
Ronan had mentioned that he wanted Cordelia to serve him, so Cordelia sat beside him.
"Why can't Janice serve you?" Cordelia muttered under her breath.
Janice went to the kitchen to dish out the food.
"Cordelia!" Ronan said sternly. "What's my relationship with her?"
Intimidated by his stern tone, Cordelia reluctantly picked up his fork and spoon, asking him what he wanted to eat.
Cordelia figured that he could manage to eat perfectly with his left hand, but he chose not to, and waited for her to feed him.
"Just look at your dad, enjoying every minute of it," Cordelia seemed to be teasing the children, but they didn't understand, nor did they hear. In reality, she was teasing Ronan.
Upon hearing the term, "your dad," Ronan's heart softened a bit.
After feeding Ronan until he was full, Cordelia didn't have much appetite left for her own dinner. She complained under her breath, "I haven't had enough to eat."
"I'll make sure you're full tonight!" he said to Cordelia.
Cordelia's cheeks turned red instantly. "It's late. Victoria won't allow it."
"I said I'd prepare a late-night snack for you. What are you thinking about?" Ronan asked, his face flushed.
"I…" Caught off guard by Ronan's prank, Cordelia was visibly irritated. "I don't want to think about it anyway."
"From now on, you only need to serve dinner. You can't get up early in the morning," Ronan added.
Cordelia pouted. "Alright, boss."
Reluctantly, Cordelia went to the living room to get his glasses.
"Help me put them on." Ronan requested as soon as she brought the glasses. He was holding the iPad with one hand, and his other hand was bandaged, making it impossible for him to put on his glasses. So, Cordelia knelt beside him and helped him put on his glasses.
Once Cordelia lay down, Wyatt and Ronan exchanged a phrase in German. They likely didn't want Cordelia to understand, hence the choice of language. Then, they resumed their conversation in English.
Cordelia planned to ask him what they had said in German after they finished talking, but their video call continued for a while. She slowly drifted off to sleep.
By the time Ronan went to bed, it was quarter past midnight, and Cordelia was sound asleep next to him.
Earlier, Wyatt had said in German, "You're really something. Cordelia's heavily pregnant, and you're still sharing a bed. Aren't you afraid of a mishap?"
"She won't let me, so there's no chance."
