The Contracted Ever After (Cordelia and Ronan) novel Chapter 313

In bed.

Ronan's body was pressed against Cordelia. His warmth was seeping through her back, making her feel snug and comfortable.

"Can't tell who I'm fond of?" Ronan murmured from behind her, his breath tickling the nape of her neck.

The word "fond" sent a shiver down Cordelia's spine. This was the first time he had used the word "fond."

"How would I know?" Cordelia retorted comfortably wrapped in his arms. "Last time we were at the diner, you told me 'Men's business, best not to ask.’"

"Do you mind?" he asked.

Cordelia closed her eyes. "No, I don't."

"That's good," Ronan calmly responded. "How about tonight?"

"No!"

"I'll be gentle."

"Still no! You always say that, but you…" Cordelia trailed off, and suddenly felt terrified.

Before she could finish speaking, her words were stifled by Ronan's kiss. He kissed and caressed her, making her feel as if she was on fire. If she didn't give in, she was sure she would explode.

He was such a jerk!

The next morning, Cordelia woke up feeling exhausted and overslept. Ronan had left early.

After some thought, Cordelia changed his name on her Messenger to, Living Dildo. It was apt since he was always so frisky.

She got a ride to work with Tristi. On the way, her phone kept buzzing, As she was getting into the elevator, she saw Deanna just stepping out of it.

Deanna barely glanced at Cordelia before striding off with a smug look on her face. Did Deanna discuss with Ronan how to handle the current predicament? Cordelia wondered angrily but said nothing.

Cordelia thought, “From Brooklyn's question, she must know something, and she just didn't tell Cordelia.”

"Edwin told me, I asked him and he couldn't resist, so he told me," Cordelia said, her tone gloomy.

Brooklyn looked shocked. "He told you?"

Cordelia nodded.

"Cordelia, don't be upset. I know your grandmother's death was tragic. Samantha watched her die and didn't help, and Deanna sent Samantha a package that was easily flammable. These two are colder than I ever imagined." Brooklyn gripped Cordelia's arm. "Cordelia, stay strong!"

Cordelia was stunned. She knew her grandmother's death was more than it seemed, but she didn't expect it to be this terrible.

Samantha and Deanna were simply murderous.

Cordelia's hand shook. Just now, Deanna had left Ronan's office with a triumphant smile on her face. So, how exactly had Ronan helped her?
