"Clap, clap, clap."
Ronan applauded thrice. "Impressive story. But don't cross my line! Otherwise, I'll act upon my words. Don't mess with me, and especially not with her! If you do, you will get to know the consequences."
With that, Ronan rose from his seat and left.
Alana tightly clenched the corner of her throw pillow, wondering how her people could have been so inept to let Ronan discover their plan so quickly and utterly crush it!
Alana stood in front of her couch for a moment before making a call to her subordinate. "Get Allison over here!"
"Okay."
Allison was Alana's former assistant.
After returning to his office, Ronan began packing his things. Emerson walked in. "What's the rush, bro? Going on a business trip?"
"I’m going abroad!"
"Which country?"
"What do you think?" Ronan challenged Emerson without even raising his head.
Emerson was shocked. "The U.S.? Really? Has hell frozen over? Can't bear the loneliness anymore?"
Ronan cast Emerson a reproachful look. "What you think is what you see," Ronan retorted.
"So, is that not what you're thinking?"
Ronan remained silent.
Emerson pulled out his phone. "Need me to book your flight?"
"No need, I have an assistant for that," Ronan replied while dialing his driver to wait for him downstairs to go to the airport.
"Can't sit still for a minute!" Emerson exclaimed, watching Ronan's retreating figure.
