Last night, Aiden was goofing off in the living room when he overheard his parents talking. His dad was fuming because Ronan's Edith Hills project had sold out like crazy, leaving him trailing behind Ronan yet again this year. Even though Maddox was all smiles and respectful to Ronan's face, behind his back, he was seething, wishing he could tear Ronan apart.

“You know, Ronan named Edith Hills after his late daughter. She was supposed to be a twin, but she didn’t make it. I bet he did it to win his wife’s favor,” Maddox’s wife commented.

“Why do you always fuss over such nonsense?” Aiden’s dad snapped, clearly irritated. “I’m talking about serious money here, and you’re stuck on gossip. Every guy has his secrets, don’t they?”

“Well, I heard Ronan adopted a kid. They say the boy’s his love child!” Aiden’s mom added, stirring the pot even more.

“Can’t you focus on something worthwhile for once?” Aiden’s dad exploded. With no common ground left, he stood up and stormed out.

The whole Ronan saga had Maddox and his spouse at each other’s throats.

So today, Aiden decided to take out his frustrations on Callum.

“My dad is the smartest guy in the world, and yours wouldn’t know a good word if it hit him!” Callum scoffed, clearly unimpressed by the term “smart aleck.”

“That’s rubbish! My dad’s the best there is!” Aiden shot back, getting all riled up. “And for the record, Jayson is definitely your dad’s secret child. Why else would he be in the same preschool as you?”

“Don’t spout nonsense! My dad loves my mom too much for that. If you keep this up, I’ll thump you!” Callum snapped, his temper flaring.

Just then, Jayson came over to find Callum and called out, “Bro!”

“Yeah?”

Aiden, determined to teach Callum a lesson, grabbed a pebble and, with a quick flick, sent it hurtling towards him.
