The Divorced Heiress Revenge (Bella Thompson) novel Chapter 1891

“Hugh!”

Ralph cried out, his eyes filled with shattered tears.

The knife’s tip had already pierced through Ralph’s coat. The sharp, icy pain had penetrated his skin.

Yet, as if some unseen force paused it, Jace abruptly halted.

Jace stared at Ralph’s grief-stricken face, his eyes empty and soulless. A wave of unprecedented dizziness washed over him.

In that moment of distraction, Ralph fired.

The bullet struck Jace’s knife-wielding arm. Though the pain was excruciating, the man did not utter a sound. His brow furrowed deeply as the weapon fell from his grasp.

Ralph wanted to apprehend him, but he felt weak from the fight. He could not get up from the ground, only gripping his gun tightly to prevent any counterattack.

But Jace did nothing more to him.

Instead, he helped his fallen comrade and quickly disappeared into the forest.

Silence fell as if nothing had happened.

“Hugh… Is it really you? Is that you…?”

Ralph whispered, enduring the pain as he got up and called the police. “An attempted kidnapping just occurred at Savrow Amusement Park. I need backup here!”

Jace and Yvonne were both seriously injured. But as they sat in the car, neither spoke a word.

Jace drove one-handed, ignoring the bullet wound in his right arm. He said coolly to Yvonne, “You need to go to the hospital.”

“We have a doctor at Pivotage… They can handle it.” Yvonne bled profusely, and she was slightly dazed.

Jace glanced at her. “You held back.”

“What…” Yvonne’s long lashes fluttered, her heart pounding.

“You know what I mean.”

“I’ve already told you... I won’t be a match against her. Are you suspecting me even when I got this seriously injured?”

Yvonne looked innocent, adopting a resigned attitude. “Pfft, if he wants to doubt me, he shouldn’t send me here. I’m so done with this…”
