Before they could make sense of the situation here, another incident arose.

Ian drove Justin’s Rolls-Royce, rushing to the police station with Bella and Justin to meet with Ralph.

“What happened? How did Mr. Storm get involved in a murder case?” Bella urgently asked.

“Just last night, we received a report. Someone found a male corpse in a secluded alley on the west side of the city. The victim was violently beaten before death, having multiple bruises and contusions. The victim wore a phoenix badge on his chest, and after confirming his identity, he was indeed a member of the Southern Star Syndicate.”

Ralph calmly recounted the events. “The alley was close to a high-end club that operates on a membership basis. It’s usually deserted during the day, and during the night, their customers would head straight to the basement parking lot. Nobody passes through the alley. Therefore, the body was found two days later by an elderly woman collecting trash, and it had already started to decompose. A few enormous rats crawled on it…”

“Ralph, stop!” Bella quickly told him to stop, her face stiff and pale. “Just get to the point. You don’t need to describe it so vividly. We just had lunch!”

However, Justin was focused, seemingly quite interested.

“Anyway, after interrogation, Elias Storm denied that he killed anyone. He said he only beat up the victim out of rage. When he left, although the victim was lying on the ground, he could still move and speak, very much alive.”

Justin asked seriously, “Ralph, when the police performed the autopsy, did you guys find Elias Storm’s DNA on the body?”

Ralph frowned deeply and shook his head. “Not just the DNA. The surveillance camera at the alley also captured the entire process of Elias dragging the victim into the alley and then leaving.”

Bella quickly asked, “Did it capture the assault process too?”

“No, but apart from Elias and the elderly woman, nobody entered the alley in the past two days. I’m not in charge of this case, but my colleague from the technical department said there’s no trace of tampering with the video. So, Elias is the biggest suspect now.”

Ralph sighed heavily. “With solid evidence and no witnesses, even if Elias is charged with accidental manslaughter, he would have to spend the rest of his life in jail.”
