Clarice was brought into the interrogation room that night. She was separated from Justin only by a thin wall.
Although Jack was one of Donald’s subordinates, he was unaware of what was truly happening behind the scenes.
All he cared about was successfully solving this case. It was the perfect opportunity for him to prove himself to Donald and help him put his rival, Ralph, in his place.
Jack was determined to make Ralph see how he would handle Justin’s case.
He imagined the headlines describing him as a fearless police officer who was not afraid of power, earning the public’s approval and praise.
Jack had never expected Clarice to be involved in this case and only treated her as another suspect. “Justin claimed that you provided the drugs. What do you have to say about that?”
Clarice blinked innocently, pretending to be clueless. “That’s not true! I don’t know why Mr. Salvador would say such a thing, but I’ve never given him any drugs! Officer, could he be using this as an excuse to clear his name? You can’t just take his word for it and let him falsely accuse an innocent person like me!”
Jack’s tone was cold and stern. “You’re his personal doctor—someone with unrestricted access to his home. You have sufficient motive and opportunity to plant the drugs in his office. Our investigations show that only you and his secretary, Ian, have been in and out of his office recently. No one else has that kind of access.
“As a doctor, you have direct access to medications. Crystal Ice originates from a class of powerful sedatives that affect the central nervous system. Isn’t that exactly your field of expertise? How do you explain your involvement?”
Clarice felt her heart sink, but she kept her composure. “Being a doctor doesn’t make me a criminal. That’s a ridiculous accusation! The only medications I’ve ever given Mr. Salvador were for his migraines and stress relief. If you don’t believe me, search my home and investigate my networks to see if I have any connections to drug dealers!
“I may just be an ordinary doctor, nowhere near as powerful as Mr. Salvador, but that doesn’t give you the right to accuse me of drug dealing without evidence. This is nothing more than a baseless accusation!”

The readers' comments on the novel: The Divorced Heiress Revenge (Bella Thompson)
I am reading this book from last year. Its very long story but at start i find enjoyable.Still there is no closure , dragging the story and the writer is running out of ideas. Its frustrating that they don't upload chapters regularly....
If you are about to start reading this “ongoing” book….don’t. It’s a great read but mo regular updates and leaves you hanging. Took me months to get to chapter 2370 (this app only has it to chapter 2368….learned to search different links to read ahead a bit). These ongoing books are just not worth the time since their author (s) take days/weeks to upload new chapters. Again great sultry, long drawn out at times, but not worth the frustration of no new updates....
No update in 6 days!!! Really??? I’m about over this story and ready to move on, the wait is to long....
Pls update regularly or least let us know why it's taking so long...
Ok I was thinking last night. I really hope the author hasn’t been affected by hurricane Helene. Not sure where they are located but I hope everyone is safe...
It’s been 87 years since the update with only 2 chapters. 🙄...
Why is it taking so long to update chapters....
Do u have plans to update more chapters or the story just end on Chapter 2270? It's been a while that no more chapter has been loaded yet. ty...
