“He’s out on bail?” Grant asked, his voice was calm and indifferent.
“Sir, I’m very sorry for the trouble I’ve caused, making you personally intervene,” Clarice said cautiously, her nerves still rattled.
“It was just a small favor, nothing more. I anticipated this would happen—you being summoned—since the drugs found on Justin came from your hands.”
Clarice’s face darkened, her unease palpable. “That police officer, Jack… Is he one of ours? When he arrested Justin, he seemed so zealous. I thought you had already brought him to our side. But during my interrogation, his attitude was harsh, relentless, and accusatory.”
“He works for Superintendent Donald. That connection is sufficient,” Grant replied succinctly.
Clarice pondered briefly, then lowered her voice. “Sir, the drug charge alone isn’t severe enough. It’s Justin’s first offense, and it won’t do much to him. He might even make bail in a day or two.”
Grant chuckled faintly. “And then?”
“It’s a pity we didn’t strike hard enough to crush him completely, to the point where he can never recover!” Clarice gritted her teeth.
“Justin has Grandpa’s backing, and the Thompson family stands behind him as well. He’s deeply entrenched in Savrow, with vast networks and influence. He’s a formidable opponent,” Grant said, his voice carrying a quiet, chilling amusement. “But for now, I’m only reclaiming what is rightfully mine. The rest will be handled in due course.”
Clarice knew exactly what Grant meant. What he wanted was everything Justin possessed.
……
The next morning, The Salvador Corporation convened an emergency board meeting to discuss whether Justin should be removed from his position as president.
The room was heavy with tension, as this decision was no small matter.
Despite the gravity of the situation, Justin was not without supporters. Several board members stood firmly in his defense.
“Mr. Salvador has devoted himself tirelessly to the company over the years. The profits he’s helped us generate are secondary to how he’s elevated the Salvador Corporation to unprecedented heights. Now that he’s in trouble, we should stand by him instead of abandoning him!”

The readers' comments on the novel: The Divorced Heiress Revenge (Bella Thompson)
I am reading this book from last year. Its very long story but at start i find enjoyable.Still there is no closure , dragging the story and the writer is running out of ideas. Its frustrating that they don't upload chapters regularly....
If you are about to start reading this “ongoing” book….don’t. It’s a great read but mo regular updates and leaves you hanging. Took me months to get to chapter 2370 (this app only has it to chapter 2368….learned to search different links to read ahead a bit). These ongoing books are just not worth the time since their author (s) take days/weeks to upload new chapters. Again great sultry, long drawn out at times, but not worth the frustration of no new updates....
No update in 6 days!!! Really??? I’m about over this story and ready to move on, the wait is to long....
Pls update regularly or least let us know why it's taking so long...
Ok I was thinking last night. I really hope the author hasn’t been affected by hurricane Helene. Not sure where they are located but I hope everyone is safe...
It’s been 87 years since the update with only 2 chapters. 🙄...
Why is it taking so long to update chapters....
Do u have plans to update more chapters or the story just end on Chapter 2270? It's been a while that no more chapter has been loaded yet. ty...
Pls update...
Please update. Thanks and more power!...
