The Divorced Heiress Revenge (Bella Thompson) novel Chapter 2430

Yvonne thought, ‘Hell? This place looked like nothing more than an outdated hospital. Why did Clarice call it hell on earth?’

Yvonne’s whole body was twitching uncontrollably as her mind teetered between clarity and confusion.

Some fragmented memories surfaced. She recalled a night when Pivotage had closed for the day, and she had shared drinks in the wine cellar with Taylor.

She had not wanted to associate with him, but she had approached him solely to gather more information.

Taylor had told her that the Boss was involved in the pharmaceutical business and had significant influence in Meridan, where he had formed ties with local government officials and powerful elites. His business was thriving.

Since drug research required clinical trials, the Boss owned a private hospital in Meridan. But that hospital was nothing more than a facade.

In the basement floors, the patients lying on the beds were all test subjects for drug experiments.

Yvonne shivered at the thought. The scenes Taylor had described felt eerily similar to her current surroundings.

Could this be the place where Grant and Clarice conducted their drug research experiments?

“Heh... Hell on earth? Do you think... I’d be afraid?” Yvonne struggled to breathe, her gaze fixed on Clarice’s twisted, malicious face.

Her resolve hardened. She would go down fighting. “The years I spent by Christopher’s side… Every day was hell... Death? I’m not afraid to die.”

“You want to die? You will be begging for it!” Clarice’s eyes burned with fury as she grabbed Yvonne’s jaw with force. “Listen to me, you worthless wench. In this place, I am God. I decide everything.

“If I’m in a good mood, I might show you a shred of mercy. If not, I’ll make sure you will experience a living hell.”

Seeing the unwavering calm in Yvonne’s eyes, Clarice grew even angrier. She slapped Yvonne hard across the face.

“Christopher? He’s nothing but a lackey that the Boss raised. As for you? You’re just a pet he kept—a plaything for whoever wanted you.

“Just because you’ve gotten close to the Thompson family and got together with Drew, do you think you’ve become someone special? Drew doesn’t know the way you groveled for men or sold yourself. If he ever saw that, he’d be disgusted by you!”

Yvonne’s long lashes trembled. Tears of anguish spilled silently down her cheeks.

She had always thought of this herself. But hearing it from Clarice’s mouth made it unbearably cruel.

“You’re not leaving this place alive anyway, so it doesn’t hurt to tell you.”
