"For Stuart's Corp, finding a replacement within a month is more than sufficient," Ranita declared confidently.
Brendon seethed with anger. Was this woman really leaving him just like that? Was she planning to run off into the sunset with her new man?
Brendon chose not to respond directly but instead changed the subject. "Did I call you last night when I was intoxicated?"
Brendon had dreamt of gentle spring breezes, only to wake up in the middle of the night, drenched in sweat. He spent an hour in a cold shower to regain his sobriety.
Upon checking his phone records, Brendon vaguely recalled dialing Ranita's number and saying something about wanting to sleep with her.
"I did receive your call," Ranita confirmed, causing Brendon's face to flush crimson.
"Did I say anything peculiar?" he inquired.
"No! Mr. Stuart, you dialed my number by mistake and promptly hung up once you realized it," Ranita explained, pausing to observe Brendon uncertainly. "What did you intend for me to hear?"
Brendon found himself at a loss for words.
However, he began to question whether last night's events were merely a dream after all.
"Mr. Stuart, what are your thoughts on my proposal? If you agree, I'll accompany you on this trip. Otherwise, I'll return home and rest."
The corner of Brendon's eye twitched slightly - it was the first time someone had dared to negotiate with him! This woman had grown bolder!
"There will be substantial compensation for terminating our agreement."
"That suits me perfectly since I have received plenty of money from you. It won't affect me financially," she retorted. All the money belonged to him. It flowed out of one pocket and returned to another. And she wouldn't lose anything anyway!
